(česky) Práce se zabývá tématem vlivu druhé světové války na osud žen ve Velké Británii. Před druhou světovou válkou se od ženy očekávalo, že buď bude ženou v domácnosti, nebo bude pracovat v zaměstnáních určených výhradně ženské populaci. Válka však změnila pravidla, podle kterých se společnost dosud řídila. Když byli muži povoláni do boje, vyvolalo to celonárodní nedostatek pracovních sil. Ženy byly vyzvány, aby zaujaly jejich místa, a to zahrnovalo mnoho pozic, které pro ně byly dříve považovány za nevhodné. Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zjistit, jak dalece byly ženy a společnost ovlivněny touto situací, kterou nastolila válka. V práci jsem analyzovala úlohu britských žen pouze v civilním sektoru na tzv. Home Front neboli na domácí frontě. V první kapitole jsem rozebírala proces, který vedl k povinné konskripci žen, a problémy, jež tento proces doprovázely. Následující kapitola se zabývá zaměstnáním žen v průmyslu, což se ukázalo být jako nejvíce problematické ve vztahu k mužům a domácím povinnostem žen. Třetí kapitola se věnuje civilní obraně a především službám, které v rámci této instituce fungovaly. Předposlední kapitola se zaobírá Ženskou dobrovolnickou organizací, která byla vytvořena k podpoře civilní obrany a k poskytování služeb veřejnosti. Poslední kapitola se zaměřuje na ženy... (english) The thesis deals with the influence of the Second World War on the fate of women in Great Britain. Before the Second World War, the woman was expected to either be a domestic woman or to work in jobs exclusively for the female population. The war, however, changed the rules according to which the society was still managed. When men were called into combat, it caused a nationwide shortage of labor. Women were invited to take their places, and they included many positions that were previously considered inappropriate for them. The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out how far women and society were affected by this situation, which was brought by the war. In my thesis I analyzed the role of British women in the civilian sector on the so-called Home Front. In the first chapter I analyzed the process that led to the forced conscription of women and the problems that accompanied the process. The following chapter deals with the employment of women in industry, which proved to be the most problematic in relation to men and domestic duties of women. The third chapter deals with civilian defense and, above all, services that function within this institution. The penultimate chapter deals with the Women's Voluntary Service, which was created to support civilian defense and to provide services...
