Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, zda existují zásadní rozdíly mezi bezdětnými a rodiči s ohledem na sociální kontakt a obdrženou pomoc ve starším věku. Nejdříve je představena bezdětnost po teoretické stránce, dále je analyzován demografický vývoj bezdětnosti na území České republiky, společně s limitacemi v datové základně, se kterými se při zkoumání bezdětnosti setkáváme. Dále je bezdětnost zasazena do kontextu možné sociální izolace a nedostatku pomoci v domácnosti či v obdržení osobní péče ve stáří. Bylo prokázáno, že se stoupajícím věkem klesá frekvence sociálního kontaktu s přáteli, naopak s ohledem na rodinu se žádný takový vztah neprokázal. Na datech z výzkumu SHARE se starší bezdětné osoby ukázaly být sociálně více aktivní než rodiče, finanční a jiné dary dávají naopak více rodiče, a to zejména svým dětem, přičemž bezdětní investují do širšího rodinného i nerodinného kruhu. V obdržené osobní péči či praktické pomoci v domácnosti se neprokázal mezi rodiči a bezdětnými signifikantní rozdíl, ten se realizoval zejména v rozdílech ve věku, zdraví, pohlaví, vzdělání a rodinném stavu respondentů. Osobami, které nejčastěji poskytují osobní péči či praktickou pomoc v domácnosti seniorů (i přestože v ní nežijí), jsou pro rodiče jejich děti, u bezdětných jsou to sousedé, sourozenci a neteře či synovci. Osoby... The main goal of this study is to discover whether there is a significant difference between childless individuals and parents based on their social contact and support received in old age. Firstly, the theoretical background is introduced. The demographical development of childlessness in the Czech Republic is then analyzed while also mentioning the limitations of the data sources that we face. Childlessness is then put into the context of possible social isolation, a lack of support in the household or in receiving personal care in old age. It was proven that with increasing age the frequency of social contact with friends decreases, however, this does not apply to contact with family members. Using data from SHARE research we have proved that the childless elderly are more intensively socially active than parents. However, in financial transfers parents give more and especially to their children, whereas the childless invest in a broader range of family and nonfamily circles. There was no significant difference in receiving personal care or practical help in the household between parents and the childless, although differences were shown based on age, health, gender, education and the marital status of respondents.
