Kapitola provádí historickou analýzu sociologických výzkumů pražské chudiny uskutečněných ve 20. a 30. letech 20. století. Ústřední pozornost je věnována výzkumným programům vedeným R. Crawfordovou a O. Machotkou. The paper historically analyses sociological research on poor in the city of Prague conducted in the 1920s and 1930s. Principal attention is paid to research programmes lead by R. Crawford and O. Machotka.
