Anotace: Tato práce je odborným pojednáním o problematice právních nástrojů ochrany světových lesů. V úvodní části uvádím základní východiska týkající se lesů obecně, tedy jejich význam, rozložení lesů ve světě a základní informace o produkčních i mimoprodukčních funkcích lesa. Prostřední část práce, která je nejobsáhlejší a z právnického pohledu nejzásadnější, se věnuje třem úrovním právní úpravy ochrany lesů, a sice úpravě na mezinárodní, evropské a národní úrovni. V závěrečné části potom nabízím exkurz do dalších oblastí ochrany světových lesů, tedy především úvod do tématu mezinárodních organizací a občanských iniciativ věnujích se světovým lesům a také do různých systémů certifikací lesních i souvisejících produktů. Mezi hlavní závěry práce patří identifikace podobností a rozdílností mezi jednotlivými národními právními úpravami, dále zhodnocení důležitosti národní, resp. nadnárodní právní úpravy pro ochranu světových lesů a v neposlední řadě také doporučení týkající se propojování právních a neprávních nástrojů za účelem zefektivnění ochrany lesů. Legal Instruments for Protecting the World's Forests from the Perspective of Law The aim of this thesis was to create an overview about the legal instruments for the world's forests protection with excursions into other instruments, i.e. political, scientific and voluntary. In order to achieve this goal, the text starts with a brief description of the importance of forests for the everyday life on the Earth, continues with the main part listing the legal instruments for protecting the forests at the national, European and international law level and ends with the discourse on voluntary instruments and certifications for world's forestry.
