Abstract: The introduced bachelor's degree work takes up with the brick architecture in Silesia on the example of two chosen Wroclav monasterial churches from the 14th century. The churches of St. Mary on Sand and St. Dorothy church are typical examples of the hall churches so-called Silesia architecture school and part of the work is manifesting the reasons of it's classification to this group of buildings. This work is divided into four parts. The first part is considering the general historical introduction, history of Wroclav and it's topography to the 14th century. The second part is oriented on Virgin Mary's church on Sand, containing brief history of research, description and history of the building. On the third part is similarly desribed the church of St.Dorothy. The last discussion part is summarizing problems concerning the single buildings, the problemacy of vaults in concrete and the possibility of genesis of given vault types, the characterization of so-called Silesia architecture school and the position of these churches within this group, the questions of Mistr Pesek existence, etc. Keywords: Silesia Wrocław Gothic-style architecture hall church vault
