Španělská ob6anská válka (1936-39) patři ve světě nesporně k nejpodrobněj i a také nej 6astěj i zpracovávaným tématům děj in 20. stoleti. zvýšená zahrani6ni ú6asti na pozornost a je to od po6átku věnována předevš im na straně republiky, jejimž nejvýraznějšim projevem se staly tzv. mezinárodni brigády. Zatimco v zahrani6i existuje k tomuto tématu až nepřehledně 1 bohatá zpřistupněni 6ásti někdejšich rozrůstá, 6eskoslovenská (resp. literatura, sovětských která archivů se po nadále 6eská) historiografie mu zůstává dost dlužna. Nikoli snad co tý6e množstvi praci, těch existuje z předlistopadového obdob i poměrně nýbrž předevšim pokud jde o způsob jeho zpracováni. Ten je totiž jednak krajně uniformni, jednak pochopitelně silně ideologicky zatižený.2 A tak 6eská historiografie dodnes komplexni (natožpak moderni) zpracováni problematiky 6eskoslovenských dobrovolniků ve Španělsku postrádá. Částe6ně (alespoň pokud jde o ideologickou předpojatost) by to proto chtěla napravit právě tato práce.Při tom právě pro 6eskoslovenské děj iny je toto téma mimořádně významné. Nejen proto, že právě dobrovolníci z tehdejšího Československa patřili uvnitř interbrigád vzhledem k počtu obyvatelstva své země relativně k nejsilněji zastoupeným skupinám,3 ale zejména tím, jak výrazně u nás problematika interbrigadistů přerůstá svůj... This thesis deals with the Czechoslovak volunteers of the International Brigades during the Spanish civil war 1936-1939. The maj or aim of the paper is to work up this topic wi thout the ideological obj ecti ves, which were until recently qui te common in the Czech (or Czechoslovak) writing about the volunteers. It is specially focused on those aspects, which were in the communist historiography the most distorted ones (e.g. the attitude of Soviet Union and the international communism to the Spanish war, the role of KSČ etc.). Therefore it is based primarily on the foreign scientific literature and the archive research. The first two chapters briefly discuss the history of the Spanish civil war and its international context as a necesarry background for the following analysis of the International Brigades. The former is concentrated on the inner (IISpanish") roots of the conflict and its development, more closely on the relations between the leading forces within the loyalist zone and on the dual role of Spanish communists. The latter then treats the international aspects of the civil war, which were of the main importance for its conclusion.
