Neustále zvyšující se touha po poznávání nových krajin, kultur, vzdělávání a ekonomickém zisku představuje tlak na sociální a environmentální prostředí, který se výrazněji projevuje ve zvláště chráněných územích (ZCHÚ). Státní i soukromá sféra se proto snaží usměrnit návštěvnický tok udržitelným managementem, pro který je hlavní cíl podpora a koordinace všech zúčastněných a zájmových skupin turismu. Návštěvnické monitoringy, jako nezbytné nástroje managementu v ZCHÚ, vedou k řešení konfliktů a snížení dopadů na přírodu i společnost. Univerzita Karlova v Praze byla první institucí v České republice, která se pravidelnými návštěvnickými průzkumy v ZCHÚ začala systematicky zabývat. Práce sleduje a porovnává názory obyvatel krkonošského rekreačního střediska Špindlerův Mlýn (ŠM) v roce 1999, 2004 a 2009. V roce 2009 uváděli respondenti ŠM rozvoj výstavby jako nejčastější ekologický problém, který způsobuje kromě změny krajinného rázu také změny v sociální a ekonomické sféře obce. Navzdory tomuto vnímání převažovaly kladné postoje sledované skupiny respondentů v ŠM na vývoj ŽP Krkonoš. Jako nástroje výzkumů... The constantly growing desire for discovering new landscapes, cultures, education and economic profit exerts pressure on the environmental and social surroundings that are stronger in the protected areas (PA). State and private spheres make an effort to regulate the flow of visitors through sustainable management, to which the promotion and coordination of all stakeholders of tourism is the main aim. Visitor monitoring is an essential management tool in PA and can lead to conflict resolution and reduction of the impact on nature and society. Charles University in Prague was the first institution in the Czech Republic to show concern through methodical regular visitor surveys in the PA. This work pursues and focused on the opinions of people in Krkonose tourist resort Spindleruv Mlyn (SM) in 1999, 2004 and 2009. In 2009, respondents in SM noticed the build- up of development as the most frequent ecological problem, which causes changes in social and economic life of the village as well as changes in the character of the landscape.
