Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zpracování dat o klientech Společnosti pro ranou péči, a jejich srovnání s předchozími pracemi na toto téma. Data se týkají zrakových diagnos, etiologie postižení a dalších přidružených diagnos u klientům s kombinovaným postižením, a také věku klientů při zahájení a ukončení spolupráce se Společností pro ranou péči. První kapitola práce představuje činnost Společnosti pro ranou péči. Druhá kapitola charakterizuje vývoj dítěte s těžkým zrakovým postižením a jeho rodinu. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na dítě s kombinovaným postižením a jeho rodinu. Kapitola čtyři je věnována analýze údajů o klientech Společnosti pro ranou péči za období říjen 2001 - září 2006. Poslední, pátá kapitola je věnována "Transition programu", pro klienty Společnosti pro ranou péči, u nichž byla péče ukončena v období 1996 - 2001.
