Bakalářskou práci na téma Historie a současnost Domova pro zrakově postižené Palata, jsem pojala jako komplexní výpověď. Tu jsem rozdělila do tří částí, které se zabývají vždy konkrétní oblastí. První část jsem věnovala historii domova, kde uvádím například důležitá data, osobnosti, zakládací dokumenty, metody práce s chovanci, ale i financování ústavu či politické vlivy, jenž ovlivňovaly život obyvatel a personálu. Druhá část je soustředěna na současný chod Palaty. Zmiňuji zde kupříkladu cíle a poslání domova, podmínky přijetí klienta, ale také současné metody práce s klienty, nadstandardní aktivity nebo též organizační strukturu či zcela zásadní rekonstrukci budovy. Ve třetí části jsou uvedeny kazuistiky, které jsem rozdělila do čtyř kapitol - zrakové postižení, dětství, dospělost a stáří. Zkoumané klientky Palaty se liší typem postižení, jelikož jedna je nevidomá od dětství, druhá od seniorského věku a třetí má specifickou kombinaci, je hluchoslepá. Každá kazuistika je tedy jedinečná a originální. My bachelor s thesis on the History and Present of the Home for visually impaired people Palata has been conceived as a complex statement. I divided it into three parts, each of them dealing with specific areas. The first part is dedicated to the history of the home. I mention not only important dates, persons, foundation documents, methods of working with inmates but also financing of the institution or political interests which influenced the life of inhabitants and staff. The second part is focused on contemporary run of the Palata. I talk about the objectives and tasks, conditions of acceptance of clients, as well as current methods of work with clients, above standard activities, organizational structure or entirelly fundamental reconstruction of the building. In the third part I deal with case studies, which I divided into four sections - visual impairment, childhood, adulthood and old age. Palata surveyed clients differ in the type of disability, whereas one has been blind since childhood, the other since old age, the third has a specific combination, she is deaf-blind. Each case report is unique and original.
