Vývoj vědeckých představ o zpravodajských hodnotách počínaje studií Johanna Galtunga a Mari Rugeové (1965) do současnosti v kontextu vývoje mediálních studií. Počátek analýzy shrne model zpravodajských hodnot vypracovaný norskými vědci. Následovat budou pozdější práce, které navázaly na tento model a obohatily ho o nové perspektivy (problematika gendru, infotaimentu atd.). It means that events have to be seen, heared, recognized, come from some identified source, they have to be chosen as a news and then presented. What are the characteristics that make the news from the events? The characteristic is newsworthiness. Two norwegian scientists, Johan Galtung and Man Ruge, had studied newsworthiness of overseas events presented in Norwegian press. As a result they presented study about twelve factors that influence the selection. Their study come from 1963. My aim is to reconsider their findings to present day journalism in the Czech republic.
