V toku Vláry (povodí Váhu - Dunaje) na území České republiky byl zjištěn výskyt Sabanejewia balcanica, druhu, který byl dosud klasifikován jako vyhynulý. Provedený výzkum Vláry prokázal, že tento druh tam přirozeně migruje z dolního toku Vláry na území Slovenska. Výsledek prokazuje klíčový význam migrační průchodnosti toku pro šíření či obnovu výskytu různých druhů ryb. In the Váh - Danube catchment the species Sabanejewia balcanica was found occupying the Vlára River in the Czech Republic. This species was up to date classified as extinct. The research carried out in the Vlára River on the Czech side proved that S. balcanica migrates there naturally from the lower reach of the river on the Slovak side. The outcomes obtained show the significance of migration passability of streams for spreading and reestablishment of various fish populations.
