V první části referátu je uveden přehled tradičních metod výzkumu sebepojetí a je podán kritický rozbor jejich přínosů a omezení. V další části příspěvku je proveden pokus o zmapování nových metod a výzkumných postupů, které byly vytvořeny v průběhu 880. a 90. let v souvislosti s novými tématy v oblasti výzkumu sebepojetí (komplexita já, stabilita sebepojetí, dialogické já a další). In the first part of the paper, the overview of traditional methods used in self-concept research is presented, and the critical analysis of their contribution and limits is given. Further, the attempt to map the new methods and research approaches thhat were created in eighties and nineties in connection with new topics in the field of self-concept research (the complexity of self, the stability of self-concept, the dialogical-self and others) is done.
