Práce porovnává na podkladě archeologických údajů historické okolnosti vzniku mléčné produkce v subsaharské Africe a v Evropě. Ve světle archeologických a etnografických poznatků se pokouší interpretovat výjimečnou adaptaci některých lidských skupin ze subsaharské Afriky a Evropy k trávení mléčného cukru v dospělosti. The contribution compare the historical circumstances of the origin and development of milk production in Sub-Saharan Africa and in Europe. In the light of the archaeological and ethnographic information try to explain the amount of genetic diversity of the exceptional genetic adaptation of some African and European human populations to digest milk sugar (lactase) in adult age.
