Příspěvek studuje geotektonickou pozici, tektonické uspořádání a obecnou geomorfologii jihozápadního úseku Českého masivu. 100 km dlouhý okrajový svah je tvořen regionálně významným diendorfským zlomovým systémem paleozoického stáří. Během kenozoika bylo toto staré tektonické území aktivováno v transtenzním režimu jako jedna ze zón vyrovnávajících rozdílné pohyby mezi Východními Alpami a Západními Karpaty. Z kinematického hlediska proto může být považováno za součást alpinského orogénu. The contribution deals with geotectonic position, tectonic configuration and general geomorphology of the south-western section of the marginal part of the Bohemian Massif. The 100 km long marginal flank is formed by the regionally important linear Diendorf fault system of Paleozoic age. During Cenozoic, this old tectonic area was reactivated in transtensile regime as a one of zones compensating different movements between the Eastern Alps and Western Carpathians. Thus, from a kinematic point of view, it can be regarded as a component of the Alpine orogen.
