Cílem práce je analýza privatizačního procesu společnosti Škoda Auto. Výsledkem této analýzy je zhodnocení úspěšnosti privatizace společnosti a jejího vlivu na následný vývoj nejen samotné Škody Auto, ale i českého automobilového průmyslu, a tedy i celé české ekonomiky. V roce 2016 uběhlo 25 let od privatizace společnosti Škoda Auto, která je v současnosti jedním z tahounů české ekonomiky. Neexistuje mnoho publikací, které by dávaly do souvislosti tento privatizační proces a zároveň sledovaly následný vývoj společnosti a důležitost tohoto procesu pro rozvoj českého automobilového průmyslu, a tedy i celé české ekonomiky. Právě rozhodnutí učiněná v souvislosti s privatizací společnosti byla klíčová pro rozvoj Škody Auto a i celého českého automobilového průmyslu. Teoretická část práce zkoumá vybrané myšlenky ekonomických škol a sleduje jejich vazbu na privatizační proces v České republice. Dále jsou charakterizovány čtyři pilíře transformace české ekonomiky s důrazem na změnu vlastnických práv. Nakonec jsou popsány metody privatizace použité v České republice. Praktická část analyzuje výchozí stav společnosti Škoda Auto před privatizací. Následně je popsán samotný privatizační proces. Největší pozornost je zaměřena na analýzu post-privatizačního vývoje společnosti, jenž dokládá úspěšnost privatizačního procesu a význam Škody Auto pro českou ekonomiku. The aim of this thesis is the analysis of the privatization process of Skoda Auto. This analysis results in the evaluation of the privatization of Skoda Auto and its impact on the resultant development of not only the company itself, but also Czech automotive industry and therefore Czech economy as a whole. It has been 25 years since the privatization of Skoda Auto and it is one of the Czech leading enterprises nowadays. Not many works have been written which would explain this process and focused on the follow-up development of the company and the importance of this process to the growth of Czech automotive industry resulting in the growth of Czech economy. The decisions made during the privatization process were crucial to the growth of Skoda Auto and Czech automotive industry. The theoretical section of the thesis studies selected schools of economic thought and their connection to the Czech privatization process. Next, four fundamental pillars of Czech transformation process are described with an emphasis on the transition of property rights. Moreover, the methods of privatization used in Czech Republic are described. The practical section analyses the starting state of Skoda Auto before the privatization took place. Following section describes the privatization itself. The stress is laid on the analysis of post-privatization development of the enterprise which proves the success of privatization process and the significance of Skoda Auto for Czech economy.
