Práce se zabývá kuponovou privatizací a privatizací obecně v tehdejším Československu a následně v České republice. To vše po Sametové revoluci v roce 1989. Vychází z hypotézy, že kuponová privatizace byla efektivní privatizační metodou co do rychlosti provedení a co do počtu zúčastněných lidí a podniků. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První část je zaměřena na společensko-historický kontext, jednotlivé teoretické privatizační koncepty, mezi něž patří metoda, která je pro práci stěžejní a tou je metoda kuponové privatizace. Dále se zabývá investičními podílovými fondy a kapitálovým trhem. Druhá část využívá teoretické koncepty popsané v části první. Následně pomocí komparativní analýzy je provedeno srovnání teoretických znalostí a získaných dat. Na závěr jsou porovnané výsledky s průběhem privatizace v Polsku a NDR. Tímto porovnáním se dochází k závěru, že kuponová privatizace v České republice nebyla tak rychlá, jak se od ní očekávalo, ale byla úspěšná z hlediska objemu majetku privatizovaného kuponovou privatizací a počtem lidí zapojeného do tohoto procesu. The thesis deals with the voucher privatization and privatization in general in the former Czechoslovakia and then the Czech Republic. All this after the Velvet Revolution in 1989. It is based on the hypothesis that the voucher privatization was successful privatization method in terms of speed and number of participating people and companies. The work is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the socio-historical context, the various theoretical concepts of privatization, including the method, which is crucial for the work and that is the method of voucher privatization. It also deals with investment mutual funds and the capital market. The second part uses theoretical concepts described in the first part. Subsequently, using comparative analysis is a comparison of theoretical knowledge and acquired data. In conclusion, the results are compared with the process of privatization in Poland and East Germany. This comparison leads to the conclusion that the voucher privatization in the Czech Republic was not as fast as was expected, but was successful in terms of amount of assets privatized by voucher privatization and the number of people involved in this process.
