In this paper, we use a 1995 sample of social-security wage records of full-time German workers to show that in East Germany predominantly "female" occupations pay more to both men and women and that there is no relationship between occupation-specific concentration of women and wages in West Germany. V této studii ukazujeme na základě dat o odvodech na sociální zabezpečení u německých pracovníků pracujících na plný úvazek, že ve Východním Německu jsou mzdy v typicky ženských zaměstnáních vyšší jak u žen tak u mužů, a že neexistuje vztah mezi koncentrací žen v jednotlivých zaměstnáních a mzdami v Západním Německu.
