Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na přínos zabezpečení dat ve firmách v českém prostředí na základě odvození dodatečných celkových nákladů vlastnictví souvisejících s šifrováním dat celého pevného disku a průměrných očekávaných nákladů ztráty dat. Kromě historie šifrování, základů kryptografie, statistik úniků informací a běžné praxe spojené s firemním šifrováním dat představuje teoretická část především metodu vyjádření nákladů a přínosu šifrování dat ve firemním prostředí. V praktické části práce je tato metoda v každém kroku přizpůsobena českému prostředí, upravena na základě velikosti organizace a aplikována na tři modelové společnosti. Na základě získaných výsledků je následně provedeno celkové zhodnocení přínosu šifrování dat v závislosti na velikosti společnosti v českém prostředí a kritická diskuse výsledků. The thesis focuses on the benefits of company data security in Czech environment calculation based on the additional total cost of ownership for the full disk data encryption and the average expected cost for data breach. In addition to the history of encryption, basics of cryptography, information breach statistics and company data encryption common routine, the theoretical part of the thesis above all introduces the method of company data encryption cost and benefits calculation. Within the practical part of the thesis, each step of the method is customized to match the Czech environment, modified by the organization headcount and applied to three virtual companies. The results are then evaluated, the benefits of data encryption compared by the company size in the Czech environment and also the critical discussion is carried out.
