Abstrakt: The identification of most of the clinically significant species by the conventional laboratory methods is still time-consuming and often insufficient for ensuring early targeted therapy. This is especially important in the case of the nosocomial infections where the number of microorganisms in the cerebrospinal fluid is often ranging from units up to hundreds of cells per milliliter during bacterial infections of the central nervous system. The electrophoretic techniques with UV-detection reach the detection limit of intact cells approximately from 107 cells mL-1.
