Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje situaci, která panovala na poli mezinárodních vztahů během dvouletého období po druhé světové válce. Hlavním předmětem mého zájmu je zahraniční politika praktikovaná Spojenými státy mezi léty 1945-1947. Bezprostřední poválečné nadšení prezidenta F. D. Roosevelta k pokračující spolupráci se Sovětským svazem vystřídal Trumanův mnohem obezřetnější přístup. S Kennanovým "Dlouhým telegramem" přišel do Bílého domu definitivní odklon od představy Stalina coby spojence. Napětí mezi velmocemi gradovalo v první polovině roku 1947. Kongres schválil pomoc Řecku a Turecku (Trumanovu doktrínu) znamenající příchod politiky zadržování. V návaznosti na ni a s ohledem na evropský vývoj, který se jevil jako klíčový k budoucímu celosvětovému uspořádání, byl 5. června 1947 vyhlášen Marshallův plán. Má práce nabízí odpovědi na následující otázky. Co stálo na pozadí rozhodnutí, díky nimž se Amerika vydala tímto směrem? Existovaly nějaké alternativy? Jaké byly konkrétní dopady nové americké zahraniční politiky? This bachelor thesis analyses the situation which ocurred on the field of foreign relations in the two-year period after the World War Two. The main subject of my interest is foreign policy practised by the United States between years 1945-1947. Immediate postwar enthusiasm of president F. D. Roosvelt towards the ongoing colaboration with the Soviet Union was replaced by Truman's much cautious approach. It was Kennan's "Long Telegram" which ment the definite deflection of the White House to consider Stalin as an ally. The friction between world-powers escalated in the first half of 1947. The Congress approved the aid for Greece and Turkey (Truman Doctrine) meaning the oncoming of containment. Following that and regarding the European situation which appeared as a key one for the future worldwide arrangement, the Marshall Plan was announced on the 5th June 1947. My thesis offers answers to the following questions. What stood on the background of the decisions thanks to them the United States have chosen this direction? Did any other alternatives exist? What were the concrete consequences of the new American foreign politics?
