Tato práce se zabývá městy přátelskými k lidem a jejím cílem je přiblížení konceptu udržitelného rozvoje města. V teoretické části vymezuji důležité body, které by mělo město přátelské k lidem splňovat. Zejména se jedná o kvalitu života ve městech, veřejná prostranství, dopravní infrastruktury měst a místa vhodná k odpočinku, k relaxaci. V praktické části představuji dva zástupce světových měst přátelských k lidem - francouzské město Lyon a hlavní město Dánska - Kodaň. V dalších kapitolách praktické části analyzuji město Jindřichův Hradec a v závěru práce navrhuji změny na náměstí Míru tak, aby město Jindřichův Hradec bylo přátelské k lidem. This thesis deals with the cities friendly to people and aims to explain the concept of sustainable urban development. In the theoretical part I describe the main points that the city friendly to people should meet. That means in front of all the quality of life in cities, public spaces, transport infrastructure and places for rest, to relax. In the practical part two representative cities of that concept are presented - the French city of Lyon and the capital of Denmark - Copenhagen. In the following chapters of the practical part town I analyze the town of Jindřichův Hradec and the conclusion suggests changes in the "Náměstí míru" square so that the town of Jindřichův Hradec was friendly to people.
