Práce se zabývá vědecko-technickými parky a jejich rolí ve světové ekonomice. V první části obsahuje teoretické informace, které jsou důležité pro pochopení dané tématiky. Poté na konkrétních příkladech - Silicon Valley a Route 128 popisuje vznik a vývoj dvou různorodých parků. V práci jsou identifikovány faktory, které výše zmíněným oblastem pomohly k úspěchu a ekonomickému růstu. Významná část práce je věnována vědecko-technickým parkům ve světě, zejména v evropských a asijských zemích. The thesis is concerned with the role of science and technology parks in the world economy. It explores the experience of Silicon Valley and Route 128 and tries to identify key factors that are important for development of a science and technology park (STP). There is a signifact part of the thesis concerned with the role of STPs in selected european and asian economies.
