The aim of the work is to give a detailed insight into the ways and methods of product distribution as used by a food industry manufacturing plant. Distribution chain management from a marketing and logistics point of view is analysed focusing on transport options and potential. Theoretical basis and terms definition are provided, the emphasis being laid on the function of distribution, its intermediaries, and channels in terms of logistics costs. The work describes options a company has when creating a distribution chain. Distribution warehouses and ways of transport are considered as the most important factors. The practical part of the work deals with product distribution at a Danone company, focusing on rules, specifics, and risk areas. Process optimization is proposed with regard to costs, transport effectivness and customer needs. Cílem práce je podat co nejširší přehled o způsobech a metodách distribuce výrobků se zaměřením na výrobní závod v oblasti potravinářského průmyslu. Práce se týká řízení distribučního řetězce, a to jak z pohledu marketingu, tak z pohledu logistiky, zejména s orientací na přepravu, její možnosti a potenciál. Je popsána teorie a vymezeny pojmy. Důraz je kladen na objasnění významu distribuce, distribuční mezičlánky, distribuční cesty ve spojitosti s logistickými nákladovými vazbami. Práce popisuje, jaké možnosti má podnik při sestavování distribučního řetězce, přičemž jako nejvýznamnější prvky jsou zde prezentovány distribuční sklady a přepravní možnosti. V praktické části je popsána distribuce výrobků společnosti Danone a.s., její pravidla, zvláštnosti a také rizikové oblasti. Jsou navrženy optimalizace procesu z hlediska nákladovosti, efektivity přepravy a potřeb zákazníka.
