Park&Ride system in Brno region
Štadáni, Pavel ; Apeltauer, Jiří (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The intensity of car traffic grows worldwide every year. This issue is being resolved by establishing Park&Ride car parks, a combination of car and public transport, at city outskirts. Their purpose is to reduce car congestion. This thesis focuses on targeting the most convenient locations of Park&Ride car parks for passengers travelling to Brno from west and southwest directions – specifically parts of the Brno-venkov and Znojmo districts, with overlap to the Třebíč and Žďár nad Sázavou districts in the Vysočina region. A part of this process is also to evaluate the optimal car park capacity required. The conclusion presents a comparison of the journey time by car alone and that of the Park&Ride system.
Optimalization of public transport in the centre of Pilsen in long term period
Kohout, Vojtěch ; Mervart, Michal (advisor) ; Chlad, Miloslav (referee)
This Diplomas thesis is focused on the area of public transport in the centre of Pilsen and its optimization in a long term. In the methodology part are defined basic terms of public transport and theoretical outcomes for urban and suburban public transport systems. Next there is a description of means of transport and methods of preference used in public transport. Shortly is introduced the legal framework of public transport in Czech Republic. The processes of transport management especially the process of planning are described in detail. The last subchapter of the methodology part describes integrated transport systems. The analytical part of the thesis begins with the description of the Pilsen as a regional centre and the analysis of its urban and suburban transport system. The deficits of the system are grouped into problem areas; for each problem area is suggested an optimization: the new bus terminal in Šumavská street near the Pilsen main train station, the interconnection of Borská street with the intersection Karlovarská/Lidická and usage of the north-west bypass by public transport.
The Integrated Transport System in the South Bohemian Region
Matoušková, Aneta ; Mervart, Michal (advisor) ; Beneš, Ondřej (referee)
This This Master´s Thesis deals with the problems of the integrated transport system in the South Bohemian Region. After the explanation of the concept the integrated transport system follows the specification of the transport systems, the transport divisions and short introduction with the legislative framework. Further in my Master´s thesis I describe two chosen efficient and sophisticated integrated transport systems in the Czech Republic. Next part of this work deals with the current traffic situation in the South Bohemian Region. It follows the prices comparison for the tickets in the local transport and analysis the connection in chosen towns in the South Bohemian Region. The aim of this work is to make a suggestion of the integrated transport system, chose the model, tariffs and prices for the tickets. In the last part of this work I pay attention to the detected weaknesses and I suggest their possible solution.
Problems of a Public Transport
RUSCHKOVÁ, Hana
The bachelor thesis is dedicated to the problems of a public transport in the chosen agglomerations, which are in this case Jihlava region and České Budějovice region, Liberec region and Praha východ region. A lot of people use the public transport every day. Therefore it is very important to pay attention to this topic. It is necessary to determine its problems and deficiencies and try to eliminate them. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to suggest how to improve the situation of the public transport in these agglomerations. The suggestion is based on Mohring effect. The analysis is based on data from the Transport Yearbook of the Czech Republic 2014 and from the timetables. Further research is done also from the internet articles.

First, however, the work describes the theoretical background and the most important sources from which the author draws. The following explains the key concepts, which operates in the work of the author. In chapter Methodology work is explained in detail the procedure for creating part of this work. Using DEA models to assess efficiency of public transport
Hanousek, Jakub ; Borovička, Adam (advisor) ; Soldatyuk, Nataliya (referee)
This thesis deals with using DEA models to assess efficiency of the bus public transport in the Czech Republic regions. It is a method based on linear programming used to measuring efficiency of units. The main problem of public transport is the constant pressure to increase subsidies into this sector whilst the efficiency decreases. In the theoretical part of thesis, there will be explained the term 'efficiency' and will be introduced the basic principles of data envelopment analysis method including the mathematical formulations of the classic and modified DEA models, which will be then used in the practical part. The analysis of the resulting efficiency rates of all the different regions will be carried out with respect to the regions' specific characteristics. In the conclusion the optimal values will be proposed.
