Grandparents as Foster Parents from a View of Social Workers
LUSTOVÁ, Andrea
My bachelor's thesis deals with kinship care provided by grandparents. I have set two goals - (1) to map social workers' experience concerning raising a child placed into the care of grandparents and (2) to discover in which areas of child care the intergenerational distinction is most clearly seen. I have chosen the qualitative research strategy, questionnaire method and semi-structured discussion. Data were evaluated based on open coding. The research group consisted of five social workers. The research itself was realized in March, 2020. The theoretical part deals with foster care in general, its history in the Czech Republic, the beginning and end of foster care, foster care allowances, foster care by relatives, and especially grandparents. The practical part contains open coding with five categories, where each category contains one or two subcategories. I have researched that every social worker perceives kinship care differently and has her own experience. There was a great deal of disagreement among the answers given by social workers. I was finding out intergenerational differences, risks and negatives of this kinship care, spending free time with children and grandparents' participation in the school preparation of children. This bachelor thesis can serve as a source of information for authorized person to social and legal protection of children.
Seniors Look to Today's Society.
KŘÍŽOVÁ, Věra
This thesis discusses the perspective of older people in today's society, their views on today's time and their eventual wishes for the future. The theoretical part is focused on the definition of old age, the definition of diseases associated with aging, ageism and its resources, as well as media coverage seniors, elderly abuse, and last but not least, the company, its structure and the impact on seniors. In the practical part the qualitative research method, retrospective analysis, carried out using semi-standardized interview techniques. Participants were seniors aged 65 to 85 years, selected purposeful selection in town Milevska, township and village Sepekov Chyšky in South Bohemia. The aim was to explore the views of older people living in their families and look back at a career, find out their attitude to today's society, to today's values and beliefs compared with the period in which he grew up. The results show that the views of older people are much nerůzní, although each respondent was another age, sex, residence, occupation and different hobbies. It seems, therefore, that this really did not have any influence respondents' answers. It was found that the majority of the elderly during life planned aged modest life as previously lived and more time for hobbies. The big problem intergenerational differences seniors perceived lack of understanding by the young, as they do not like too rapid developments and technological advances forward, faces frivolity, and emphasize that they always knew how to enjoy the simple things, which today few people can do. Regarding the comparison of positives today's society and times of their youth, seniors sees as a positive factor in more opportunities for the labor market and more opportunities to spend your leisure time. We should remove the company's rapid development forward and the various achievements of the time, which they see as too much choice in food, in the types of mobile phones, etc. There would leave equipment such as a car or a mobile phone, which is for life today almost a necessity. Unfortunately, a lot of things they can not do anything because of it, he claims, have the right and sufficient powers.
