Stability analysis of swinging props turbines
Bukovský, Petr ; Navrátil, Petr (referee) ; Skalka, Petr (advisor)
Master thesis deals with a computing simulation of two props turbines lines. The thesis output is gaining maximum possible load, at which a commencement of deformation stability critical state for various geometrical imperfections has not arisen yet. The calculation has been done by FEM in two different ways: linear solution (using a calculation conversion into eigenbuckling) and nonlinear solution (using a FEM deformation option). Result analysis compares both methods outcomes. Safety factor for the props operation has been proposed taking into consideration known influences on operating state.
Modelling and analysis of auxetic materials response on the mechanical loading
Vítek, Tomáš ; Skalka, Petr (referee) ; Ševeček, Oldřich (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on auxetic materials, especially on their response on the mechanical loading. Historical development, significant mechanical properties, different ways of modelling and possible practical applications of these materials are described in the research part of the thesis. The computational part deals with the detailed analysis of selected auxetic structures in order to evaluate their elastic properties depending on different geometric parameters and also on the magnitude of applied deformation. Computational modelling is primarily performed using the software ANSYS Mechanical APDL based on the finite element method (FEM). This method is briefly explained in one chapter. In the following part of the thesis the process of creating a parametric model and reducing the whole structure to a minimum geometry size (a part of a basic unit) is described. A detailed explanation of generating the mesh and setting appropriate boundary conditions is also included together with the results evaluation. Elastic properties obtained by numerical simulations are then compared to available analytical model. Dependencies of elastic properties are presented for a wide range of values of selected geometric parameters and applied deformations of the structure considering small and large deformation regimes. An influence of these parameters on a structure response during the mechanical loading is discussed based on these dependencies. At the end of the thesis the values of elastic properties computed using a finite element method are confronted to the experimental data available in the literature and the validity of the computational model is considered based on this comparison.
Optimization of the Wire Drawing Process
Kabilka, David ; Světlík, Radim (referee) ; Řiháček, Jan (advisor)
The aim of work is to present and analyse assessment of the current state and at the same time the proposal of adjustments to the technology or parameters, the introduction of the wire into the drawing machine. The problem arises when the introduction of wire with a diameter of 14 mm from the material CK 67 to the drawbenches Schumag. If we introduce the wire into the drawing machines with two primary beams leads to a buckling of the wire and pack between the drawing die and the boot device. For the introduction of wire are used hydraulic boot collets, which are controlled semi-automatically. In connection with professional studies and on the basis of the calculation, simulation and practical experiment have been identified the conditions allowing the current method of deployment of wire to use.
Study of the influence of magnetic fields on biological tissue
Vlachová Hutová, Eliška ; Fiala, Pavel (referee) ; Bartušek, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this research is to explore the influence of magnetic field on early somatic embryos (ESEs) of spruce and pine. The magnetic field is gradual. This is important for the experiment, each cluster of ESE was exposed to magnetic field of different intensity. The resulting report of this experiment consists of the comparison between various methods of image analysis and the difference in growth of ESEs due to different exposure to magnetic field and surrounding temperature. Enclosed is a proposal of ESE size computing algorithm from a given image.
Stress-strain analysis of a crane arm
Mora, Lukáš ; Halabuk, Dávid (referee) ; Fuis, Vladimír (advisor)
The content of this bachelor’s work is a summarization of types of tower cranes and subsequent stress-strain analysis of the crane arm of the crane type 150EC-B8 Litronic located on the Šumavská street in Brno. Analytical stress-strain analysis is calculated with equations of equilibrium using joint method in various types of loading of the construction with MAPLE software. Numerical calculation is executed on 3D model of the construction in software ANSYS. The aim of this bachelor work is the verification of the correctness and comparison results of analytic calculation with numeric calculation and evaluation of the results from a limit states and deformation standpoint.
Homogenization of open foam structures using Kelvin cell
Barančík, Milan ; Navrátil, Petr (referee) ; Skalka, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with homogenization of open foam structures using Kelvin cell. A computational model of the foam structure was created and converted into a computational model of solid with corresponding material characteristics in ANSYS software. Subsequently, a parametric study of the effect of Kelvin cell proportions on solid material characteristics was done. The output of the study was a generalization of the dependence of solid material characteristics on Kelvin cell proportions. Lastly, the suitability of the generalization was verified and achievements were evaluated.
Stress-Strain Analysis of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
Ryšavý, Pavel ; Janíček, Přemysl (referee) ; Vimmr,, Jan (referee) ; Burša, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with problems of biomechanics of soft tissues, namely of stress-strain analysis of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). The introduction describes briefly the possibility of aneurysm occurrence with a focus on an aneurysm in the abdominal aorta.
Numerical Modelling of the Gear Mesh Stiffness
Gazda, Silvester ; Řehák, Kamil (referee) ; Prokop, Aleš (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the design of FEM model of gear pair with an intention to find out how stiffness changes during meshing. It firstly describes the necessary knowledge needed to analyse the problem, like the geometry of an involute tooth and evaluation of meshing stiffness. Followed by a description of work procedures from the creation of models through settings of mesh, contacts and analysis to evaluating of results.
Active Compensation of Tool Deflection
Zarboch, Jaromír ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Březina, Tomáš (advisor)
This paper deals with design of tool deflection compensation system for milling spindle C1, provided by company TOSHULIN, a.s. A simplified simulation model of the spindle supplemented by compensatory elements was built by using programs ANSYS, MD ADAMS, Matlab/Simulink. As action elements there were use three piezoactuators each controled by PID controler. Efficiency of this compensation system was verified based on performed simulations.
Appropriateness of modelling the actual soil model as a uniform or horizontal two-layer soil model
Kuběna, Michael ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Vyčítal, Václav (advisor)
The present thesis deals with soil resistivity and especially the suitability of replacing various soil models with a two-layer horizontal model. First, the factors that influence soil resistivity as well as the methodology of its measuring are described, and various soil models are introduced. Then, the Ansys program was used to create several soil models: a vertical model with perpendicular or oblique division, a model with a pronounced inhomogeneity and a three-layer model. In all of these models, a Wenner measurement simulation was performed, followed by a two-layer horizontal replacement model. Then the size of the error that was created by replacing the actual model with a two-layer horizontal model was examined.
