Stigmatization of People Suffering from Mental Illness in Work Life

5 Abstract The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of stigmatization of persons with mental illness in the work life. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to identify the causes, manifestations, consequences and possibilities of reducing the stigmatization of people with mental illness when looking for work, when starting a job, during the working career and during its termination. Part of the work is not only a description of the current situation of people with mental illness on the Czech labor market, but also an outline of the historical development of employment of people with mental illness. The thesis also deals with the basic specifics of the work process and offers a more detailed approach to the process of stigmatization and self-stigmatization. The aim of the qualitative empirical investigation is to find out, through semi-structured interviews, what factors and situations individuals with direct experience of mental illness found to be stigmatizing in their working life. This is a group of 6 respondents who have been diagnosed with a mental disorder according to MKN 10 in the past. Most of the respondents are current or former clients of the non-profit organization Fokus Praha, z.ú. Factors Undermining the Motivation to Teach of Inexperienced Primary and Secondary School Teachers

The topic of the thesis is the identification of factors undermining the motivation to teach of novice teachers with a focus on primary and secondary school teachers. The aim of the thesis is to identify the factors undermining the motivation of inexperienced teachers that may result in their diversion from the teaching. The thesis examines selected aspects of teaching that may affect the motivation of novice teachers to pursue the teaching profession. Namely, the high average age of teachers, the high feminisation of the school system, low financial remuneration and the prestige of teachers. Subsequently, the thesis focuses on previously conducted surveys and researches that focused on the motivation of teachers and university students to pursue the teaching profession. Then, the topic of teachers in Italy, Austria and Finland, their job satisfaction and comparison with Czech teachers is elaborated. The quantitative survey is carried out by means of a questionnaire, which is aimed at Prague primary school teachers with up to 5 years of teaching experience. The aim of the survey is to find out whether the work motivation of these teachers is low and what are the reasons for this demotivation.

Quality of Work Life of the Visually Impaired

5 Abstract The thesis deals with the quality of working life of people with congenital and acquired visual impairment, where the group of people with visual impairment is not much studied in the conditions of the Czech labour market. The aim of the thesis is to determine the quality of working life of people with visual impairment working in the sheltered market. In order to fulfil the aim of the thesis, not only a search of the available literature is used, but also a qualitative empirical investigation carried out using the method of semi-structured interview of own construction and using the Subjective Quality of Work Life Indicator (SQWLi) by Jiří Vinopal. The thesis found that the subjective quality of working life of persons with congenital visual impairment and persons with acquired visual impairment differ, with persons with congenital visual impairment rating their subjective quality of working life higher than persons with acquired visual impairment. It was also found that the most important aspects for both groups of respondents are working relationships and self-realization, and the least important are finances and support for employment of the visually impaired by the state and other organisations. Social Circus as a Specific Form of Education

Social circus represents an innovative approach that uses circus arts as a universal language to work with a wide range of target groups. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the social circus as a specific form of education, particularly in relation to the instructor's work methods with an emphasis on social-emancipatory goals. The theoretical chapters deal with the characteristics of the social circus, its forms, target groups, and focus on the key principles of the instructor's work and competencies. The thesis further explores the potential of the social circus for the emancipation of the individual and social change and describes the connections between social circus and the field of education. The empirical data obtained through nine semi-structured interviews with instructors are analyzed using the open coding method according to Strauss and Corbin. The aim of the empirical research is to identify the benefits for the participants that the instructors recognize based on their experiences and practice. The findings show that social circus in the Czech environment represents a diverse concept that depends on the specific target group. Comparison of the Institutionalized Form of Education of the Elderly in the Czech Republic and in France

The aim of the thesis will be to compare the institutionalized form of education for seniors in the Czech Republic and in France. First, attention will be focused on the position of senior education in the context of lifelong learning, and then on its meaning, specifics and functions. Furthermore, the work will reflect the current demographic situation in both countries, including a comparison with the overall situation in the European Union. In the next chapters, the analysis of public policy documents related to the education of the elderly, the institutionalization of the education of the elderly and the participation of the elderly in education in the Czech Republic and in France will follow. The data will be analyzed on the basis of professional literature, statistical data, legal documents, documents of ministries and other state bodies or research reports of professional institutions. These chapters always result in a comparison of the given area in both countries, where the selected parameters will be the types of institutions, areas of education and the target group of education. Specifics in Education of the Second Generation of Vietnamese in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis examines the education of the second generation of Vietnamese immigrants in the Czech Republic. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to identify and analyse the specifics in the education of the second-generation Vietnamese immigrants with emphasis on their socio-cultural context. The specific aspects in the education of the second-generation Vietnamese immigrants are also identified in the context of the migration of their parents - the first generation of Vietnamese immigrants. Attention is paid to the socio-cultural characteristics of second-generation Vietnamese immigrants, which fundamentally shape their relationship and attitudes towards education and determine their educational aspirations and perspectives during the learning pathway in the Czech education system. Comparison of Adult Education Systems of the First and the Third Czechoslovak Republic

The aim of thesis is to compare the adult education systems of the first and the third republics of Czechoslovakia by identifying the similarities and differences between the two systems. The systems are compared in terms of the role of the state and associations, the financing of adult education, state-controlled education of adult education workers, the legislation which regulates the adult education and the role of the Masaryk's Educational Institute as an institution that had a overarching character for the adult education activities in Czechoslovakia. An important context is provided by the introductory part of the thesis, which is devoted to the terminological anchoring and the development of adult education from the national revival, through the Austro-Hungarian period until the First World War. The elaboration of the different areas of comparison is based on the study of period and contemporary literary sources, magazines, studies and laws. The final part of the thesis is devoted to the comparison of similar and different features of the two systems, and to the discussion about the influences that impacted the further development of adult education. Barriers to Participation in Adult Education of Low Qualified People in the Czech Republic

The bachelor's thesis deales with different types of barriers that make it difficult for low- skilled adults to participate in education. The thesis aimes to analyse a sensed barriers to participation in educational activities with a focus on low-skilled adults. The bachelor thesis analyses living situation of low-skilled adults and their position in further education, both in the Czech Republic and in Europe. The thesis also look at the subjectively sensed barriers to participation in educational activities and how they are overcome when adults choose to participate in education. The text assesses barriers to adult education in general and then focus on the area of continuing professional education. Attention is also paid to the educational policy of the European Union and the Czech Republic aimed at the education of low-skilled adults. Motivation of the Elderly to Education at the Universities of the Third Age

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of elderly education and their motivation. The aim of this work is to identify the motivation of elderly population to study at universities of the third age in the Czech Republic. First, the work focuses on the definition of aging, its periodization and also on basic demographic data on the topic of aging society. Moreover, It also discusses impact of education on lives of elderly people and specifics of education for this age group. Subsequently, attention is paid to the motivation of older adults for education and the most common barriers to educational activities. The work also focuses on institutionalized education of the elderly in the Czech Republic. Most attention is paid to the universities of the third age. The aim of qualitative empirical research is to identify the motivation of students to study at the course called "Psychology for Life" at the University of the Third Age, Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague. Empirical research is conducted by the method of qualitative interview. The interviewees are students who attended this Psychology course at the University of the Third Age at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University during the summer semester in 2021/2022.
