Agreement on Gulit and Punishment
Soukup, Jan ; Vokoun, Rudolf (advisor) ; Mulák, Jiří (referee)
Agreement on guilt and punishment Abstract This rigorous thesis deals with the controversial institution of plea bargaining due to its topicality, as it has recently been amended. This institute was first introduced into the Czech legal system under Act No. 193/2012 Coll., which amended the Criminal Procedure Code. The institute was amended last year, for the first time since its existence, and the bulk of this thesis deals with the amendment itself. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the historical development of the institution of the plea bargain. It Geuses not only on the Czech legislation, but gives also a brief introduction into foreign development, specifically from cocclusion of the supposed first agreement to the end of the 20th century. The foreign development is divided into the continental and Anglo-American legal system, where the emphasis is mainly on the historical development in the United States of America, where this institute is also the mudt established and used in more than 90% of cases, as one of the solutions to a court dispute. The second chapter focuses on the actual arguments for and against the introduction of the institution of plea bargaining. These arguments include mainly the opinions of experts and professionals from both and the Czech...
Drawing geometric graphs on red-blue point sets
Soukup, Jan ; Kynčl, Jan (advisor) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (referee)
Consider a set B of blue points and a set R of red points in the plane such that R ∪ B is in general position. A graph drawn in the plane whose edges are straight-line segments is called a geometric graph. We investigate the problem of drawing non-crossing properly colored geometric graphs on the point set R ∪ B. We show that if ||B| − |R|| ≤ 1 and a subset of R forms the vertices of a convex polygon separating the points of B, lying inside the polygon, from the rest of the points of R, lying outside the polygon, then there exists a non-crossing properly colored geometric path on R∪B covering all points of R ∪ B. If R∪B lies on a circle, the size of the longest non-crossing geometric path is related to the size of the largest separated matching; a separated matching is a non-crossing properly colored geometric matching where all edges can be crossed by a line. A discrepancy of R ∪ B is the maximal difference between cardinalities of color classes of intervals on the circle. When the discrepancy of R ∪ B is at most 2, we show that there is a separated matching covering asymptotically 4 5 of points of R ∪ B. During this proof we use a connection between separated matchings and the longest common subsequences between two binary sequences where the symbols correspond to the colors of the points.
Parity vertex colorings
Soukup, Jan ; Gregor, Petr (advisor) ; Kučera, Petr (referee)
A parity path in a vertex colouring of a graph G is a path in which every colour is used even number of times. A parity vertex colouring is a vertex colouring having no parity path. Let χp(G) be the minimal number of colours in a parity vertex colouring of G. It is known that χp(Bn) ≥ √ n where Bn is the complete binary tree with n layers. We show that the sharp inequality holds. We use this result to obtain a new bound χp(T) > 3 √ log n where T is any binary tree with n vertices. We study the complexity of computing the parity chromatic number χp(G). We show that checking whether a vertex colouring is a parity vertex colouring is coNP-complete and we design an exponential algorithm to com- pute it. Then we use Courcelle's theorem to prove the existence of a FPT algorithm checking whether χp(G) ≤ k parametrized by k and the treewidth of G. Moreover, we design our own FPT algorithm solving the problem. This algorithm runs in polynomial time whenever k and the treewidth of G is bounded. Finally, we discuss the relation of this colouring to other types of colourings, specifically unique maximum, conflict free, and parity edge colourings.

Soukup, Jan ; Šťastný, Petr (advisor) ; Arnošt, Pavel (referee)
Title: Methodology for development of skating technique on a skatemill Goals: The objective of the present study is to compile available methodology knowledge re-garding the improvement of skating technique using a skatemill, and to analyse the pro-gress of skating technique in selected ice-hockey players during a comprehensive train-ing programme, where a skating simulator is used. Keywords: Ice Hockey, skatemill, kinematic analysis, hockey skills, motoric skills, ska-ting, modern aids. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Channels eroded by groundwater flow in Strelec quarry: erosion processes and factors influencing channel evolution
Soukup, Jan ; Bruthans, Jiří (advisor) ; Grmela, Arnošt (referee)
Large depression cone in water table was formed due to mining in surroundings of Střeleč quarry. The concentrated inflow from conduits to quarry is up to 70 l/s. Large conduit systems are created by flowing water into the quarry. The biggest conduit system was at least 300 m long and 17 m high with maximum calculated volume of 22 thousands m3 . Evolution of these conduits usually takes several months to few years. Fast conduit evolution allows to study erosion processes in detail in situ. In the thesis I am describing conduits, character of flow and erosion processes. Measured flow velocities in conduits are up to 0,4 m/s with hydraulic gradient 1 to 5%. Flow velocities and hydraulic gradients are typical for piping erosion. Piping initially forms small protoconduits. The bigger conduits are formed as water is progressively drained from larger area. Conduits are following fracture surfaces, which are also limiting the conduit propagation to the sides. Above water table the conduits are enlarged mainly by mass wasting of undercut sandstone slabs. For distinguishing less and more erodible parts of sandstone, we adapted and partially developed a method for measuring erodability (REI) and drilling resistance (DR). Both are used to compare different types of sandstone surfaces. In lowermost part of the...
Sapping- its field features and studies focused on detail description of the process
Soukup, Jan ; Bruthans, Jiří (advisor) ; Schweigstillová, Jana (referee)
The study discuss about groundwater sapping erosion, whereas is upon process looked from various points of view. In small scale it observes difference between sapping drainage network and network formed by surface runoff. Further forms of the sapping weathering are described and are mentioned examples of sapping valleys from different places around the world. Partially are mentioned actual knowledge in evolution of deep incised valleys on the Mars surface, which are obviously also formed partly by sapping. In the second part, study describes some experiments focused on evolution of sapping valleys in laboratory environment.
Outsourcing success factors and comparison of the most successful countries and the Czech Republic
Soukup, Jan ; Basl, Josef (advisor) ; Očko, Petr (referee)
This paper topic are outsourcing success factors and situation in this branch in India, China, Russia and Ireland as they are considered to be the most successful countries in outsourcing nowadays, and in Czech Republic. The goal of this work is to analyse the most important outsourcing success factors and describe the possibilities to break through which Czech companies potentially may have in this branch. This work deals with different ways of seeking the information which are related to outsourcing and to the compared countries. Main attention is focused on professional database centres, services which they provide and query languages which an information specialist will meet while using these database centres. There are different types of operators and query languages described, highlighted are differences between the so called visible and nonvisible web. Every chosen country is evaluated by few particular criteria, e.g. government support or the most important industries in which outsourcing has been applied or might be applied in the future. Special attention is dedicated to the support of foreign investments in Czech Republic
