The Quiet Revolution and the subsequent political and social development in Quebec
Sluková, Kristýna ; Pondělíček, Jiří (advisor) ; Fiřtová, Magdalena (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the Silent Revolution and its consequences concerning mainly the political and social sphere in Quebec. "Révolution tranquille" was an important part of the historical development of the Canadian province of Quebec. Thanks to this "great reformist leap," Quebec was liberated from a longtime conservative government that kept the entire province under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Church and rejected any progressive ideas that had been developing elsewhere in the Western world in the meantime. The period from the late 40's, when Maurice Duplessis became Prime Minister of Quebec, until the end of his reign in 1959, is sometimes sarcastically referred to as the Dark Ages, the so- called Grande Noirceur, literally translated as "The Great Darkness". The consequences of the revolution included not only a change in the political sphere, but also a considerable wave of secularization, reform of education, health care, the economy, a change in relations between the Francophone and Anglophone populations in the province, and last but not least, the beginning of the Quebec nationalist movement and its desire for an independent Quebec, which became the number one issue for several decades throughout Canada. The thesis consists of four basic chapters. The first chapter...
Development of the active aging concept in the Czech Republic in 2000-2016
Sluková, Kristýna ; Angelovská, Olga (advisor) ; Čampulková, Jitka (referee)
Active aging is a frequently discussed issue in recent years due to the demographic aging of the population. The aim of this thesis is to map the development of the concept of active aging from its origin to the present (2000-2016). To meet the objectives there were done expert interviews and analysis of strategic documents and national action plans issued in a defined period. This thesis focuses on the development of the concept of active aging, specifically in the areas of education, employment, healthy aging and personal development. It turns out that the most important area of active aging is education that significantly affects other areas such as interest activities, longer working lives, engaging in social and cultural activities. Implementation of the concept of active aging takes place at several levels, at social level, at an individual level, or interconnection of these levels (multidimensional concept). The work is therefore focused on examining whether the concept of active aging in the Czech Republic is perceived rather as a tool for improving the quality of life of the senior, or whether it can be used as a tool to mitigate the effects of demographic aging. The work also shows that the development of active aging also affects how seniors are perceived in society (among other things)....
Early Childhood Education as Means of Parental and Professional Roles in Region Ústí
Sluková, Kristýna ; Angelovská, Olga (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
My thesis "Pre-school education as a means of harmonization of parental and working roles in the region Ústí", focuses on different types of kindergartens, which can be one of the tools for harmonization of parental and professional roles. This issue is also linked with the problem of lack of places in kindergartens, which isn't entirely new, but there has not be found yet any suitable solutions that would help eliminate this problem. Because of wide range of different types of kindergartens parents have the option to choose suitable kindergarten for their children as well as kindergarten can adapt to demands of parent so that they were allowed to return to work. This work is concerned with the extent to which directors of kindergartens (as frontline employees) and municipality (representatives bureaucracy) affect the determined indicators (time availability, space availability, affordability and services), and adaptation of the kindergartens with respect to harmonization of parental and working roles. Based on interviews with the director of kindergarten and with representatives of community, it was found that the established indicators are more suggestible in kindergarten established by the private sector, as the directors of these kindergartens are also the founders. On the other side the...
Loyalty of the customer of retail store as a competitive advantage
Sluková, Kristýna ; Průša, Přemysl (advisor) ; Zapletalová, Šárka (referee)
This bachelor thesis is concerning with a loyalty of a customer in conditions of a retail store -- what means with his constancy and satisfaction -- as one of the competitive advantages. Every single healthy company should aspire to keep its customer apart and to stimulate him to next purchase. Such customer is than driving force of the company and he creates the greatest part of sales. Satisfaction itself does not suffice because satisfied customer does not have to come back. Loyal is such one who is returning regularly, glad and satisfied. As retail store I have chose an outdoor retail chain Rock Point which offers outdoor equipment and complements. This kind of retail store I have chose because I had found it more convenient for loyalty research than e.g. food stores are. The goal of this thesis is to detect if the Rock Point's customer is loyal and to make some recommendations for the future development of the company.
