Dialogue in teaching

This thesis entitled 'Dialogue in teaching' delves into the topic of dialogic teaching at the primary school. The main objective is to assess the implementation of aspects of the philosophy for children method as a dialogical method in school practice. The author places emphasis on the specific role of the teacher in this process. In the theoretical part, the author expounds the structure of teaching communication, defines dialogue and dialogical teaching, and discusses various didactic approaches and methods that incorporate dialogue in teaching, especially the philosophy for children method. The practical part aims to determine the extent to which primary school teachers have been successful in fulfilling the principles of dialogic teaching and to identify the obstacles the achievement of these principles. A checklist is created for this purpose. Furthermore, the aim is to find out what is the role of the teacher in dialogic teaching. The research is a multiple case study and combines the method of direct observation and interviews with teachers. The findings reveal that teachers successfully manage to ask open-ended questions of higher cognitive demand during teaching, use questions to support students in longer speeches, and succeed in developing students' critical and creative thinking....
Didactic game for pupils of the 5th class in a primary school

The method of didactic games is a popular means of modern pedagogical practice. This thesis deals with the effectiveness of this method in the following five selected parameters: fun, usefulness, interest in the material, mastery of the discussed material, reflection on own competences. To do this, it uses a combination of different procedures, quantitative and qualitative data collection by questionnaire, measurement by quiz and unstructured observation. As a result, the work fulfils the principle of triangulation. The thesis has a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical background is drawn from domestic professional sources on didactic play and developmental psychology. The concept of didactic play, the division of didactic games, the developmental specifics of the fifth grade student, and the planning, management, and evaluation of instruction from the teacher's perspective are discussed. The practical part first defines the research objectives and questions, the research population, the methods used and research ethics, followed by the presentation of the results. The theoretical part deals with the importance of partnership and cooperation of family and school. It focuses on different forms and best educational climate for the students. Resolving conflicts among students in a primary school classroom

The topic of the diploma thesis is the solution of problems / conflicts between pupils in the 5th year of primary school. It deals with the causes of conflict situations in the classroom, conflict resolution strategies and the possibilities of their prevention. In the theoretical part, I focus mainly on the characteristics of the quality classroom climate and the specifics of pupils at a younger school age. I will summarize the types and causes of conflicts between students and the possibilities of how to prevent them, especially through the targeted development of their social skills. In the empirical part, in the form of action teacher research, I will try to reduce the frequency of conflicts and increase their ability to manage them in the 5th grade classroom, where I work as a class teacher. I will use the questionnaire "Our class", recording and analysis of specific situations, interview with students and analysis of my own reflective diary. To improve the social skills of students, I will use methods and techniques, especially personal and social education, which I will regularly include in the teaching of students.
Classroom climate at a primary school

The thesis deals with the class atmosphere in the 4th year of primary school. The topic is the transformation of a negative class atmosphere into a positive one. The aim was to find methods and forms of working with the class to improve the atmosphere in the class. In the theoretical part of the thesis we deal with the topics of a school class, the atmosphere in the school and in the class, indiscipline in the class, and the teacher's care for the atmosphere in the class, which is related to the addressed problem in the class. The practical part of the thesis is action teaching research. The aim of the action teaching research was to assess the specifics of the 4th year in terms of nurturing the classroom atmosphere, particularly when a negative class atmosphere arises. Through active teaching research, which included observations by the teacher, consultations with experts, and diagnostics of the class using a questionnaire titled "Our Class", the problem in the specific class was resolved and the objective of the thesis was fulfilled. Specific methods leading to an improvement of the situation in the class are described in the practical part. I believe that these methods are generally applicable and can be used in practice by other teachers, and not only those who are starting their career.
Collaboration with the family in the program Start together in a pandemic situation

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of cooperation between a school and a family during a pandemic. The theoretical part characterizes the "Začít spolu" program, which is based on the cooperation with the family. It presents the Standards of the program, in which it focuses on the area of Family and community. It deals with distance learning and compares the possible forms of communication and cooperation in the full-time form of teaching and also during distance teaching. The practical part of the thesis deals with qualitative and quantitative research, carried out through in-depth interviews and survey, which aims to find out how and in what way the pandemic affected the cooperation of a school and a family and what do the teachers and parents take from it in their future cooperation. This diploma thesis deals with the complete issue of the cooperation and communication among the tripartite: teacher- parent- pupil in primary school. The theoretical part characterizes the institution of the family and the school, describes their relations and an influence of a child when speaking of the society development and its point of view of a child education. It deals with the support of child's keys development (the ability to communicate, to learn, to solve problem situations and to self-evaluate). It offers the point of view of two-way anticipation parent- teacher and their mutual roles. The current new forms of pedagogical communication constitute an integral part of the Diploma thesis - the author deals in detail with important differences in both types of consultations: personal and on-line forms, evaluates their effectivity and difficulties for all involved side. Experiences of Teachers in Czech Nursery Schools with the Persona Dolls Method

The diploma thesis deals with anti-bias education and the Persona Dolls method. The aim of the thesis is to map the experience of teachers in Czech kindergartens who work with the Persona Dolls method and who have completed an accredited long-term Persona Dolls course. The theoretical part focuses on the historical and social context of diversity in the Czech Republic in the 20th century, anti-bias education and the principles and emergence of the Persona Dolls method in the world and in the Czech Republic. The practical part finds out what experience teachers have with the method. Specifically, what do they see as the benefits, risks and obstacles in implementing the method in preschool education and what recommendations do they make. For data collection, an interview method was used with ten graduates of the Persona Dolls course. By analyzing the interviews, it was possible to obtain answers to the research questions posed and to formulate recommendations that emerged from the interviews. The diploma thesis is focused on preschool children and resolving their challenging life situations using techniques and methods of drama education (hereinafter referred to as DE). The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the use of DE techniques and methods is effective in mastering the safe and correct behavior of preschool children in selected challenging situations. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part I focus on the definition of the term RV, its process, purposes, principles, techniques and methods, as well as the environment and conditions. I also summarize the characteristics of preschool age.In the practical part, I focus on what are the dangerous, crisis and especially challenging situations in which preschool children may find themselves. I state how the solution of the given situations should look right, therefore safe. From the reactions of children during dramatization and from the answers during the interview, it is clear what children imagine under the concept of danger and difficult situations. Communication between school and family in formative assesment of pupils

This thesis deals with communication between school and family in the formative assessment of pupils. The main goal of this thesis is to map the procedures and conditions of functional communication between school and family regarding the formative assessment of pupils. This goal will be followed by a second goal, which is aimed at finding examples of good practice. The theoretical part deals with the topic of formative assessment, communication between school and family, which describes what role the parent can be in relation to the school and the last chapter deals with the assumptions of student learning at the 1st stage of primary school. The practical part is qualitative research, in which research methods of observation and a questionnaire will be used. This part is carried out at six primary schools in Prague by selected female teachers. These schools are divided into two groups. The first group consists of three schools that gradually introduce formative assessment or use it only by some teachers in the school.
