V úvodu své studie o rožmberských sirotcích na jindřichohradeckém a českokrumlovském zámku z roku 1989 vyslovil Jaroslav Pánek následující tezi: .. 0 výchově a vzdělávánífeudální aristokracie ... víme zatímjen velmi málo." 1 I když v polistopadovém období vývoje české historiografie výzkum řady aspektů dějin zejména vyšší šlechty v předbělohorské době (méně již v následujícím období) poměrně výrazně pokroči1,2 nelze říci, že by se stav bádání o výchově a vzdělávání české a moravské nobility výrazně posunul. 3 I proto bylo toto téma zvoleno v roce 2003 pro disertační projekt, jehož výsledky nyní předkládám. Důležitost tématu je vedle jeho merita dána i jeho úzkou souvislostí s některými jinými, z hlediska dějin českých zemí raného novověku přinejmenším na první pohled závažnějšími tématy. Jedním z nich byla dosavadním bádáním již poměrně dobře osvětlená klíčová role české a moravské šlechty v politickém, náboženském i kulturním životě českého pozdně jagellonského a předbělohorského státu.Odpověděl však moderní výzkum na všechny otázky, jež souvisejí s posouzením takové úlohy nobility? Nezdá se,že by tomu tak bylo. Přinejmenším jeden její aspekt totiž příliš nezohlednil. Domnívám se, že jím je právě problém výchovy a vzdělávání urozených. The Musical Entourage of Rudolph II (1576-1612) reconstructed from the Imperial Accounting Ledgers

of the Dissertation The Musical Entourage of Rudolf II (1576-1612) reconstructed from the Imperial Accounting Ledgers Michaela Žáčková Rossi (2016, Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Petr Daněk Ph.D.) The proposed dissertation is undertaken as an attempt to make accessible the payments of the imperial court under Rudolf II concerning its musical life. Quite a century ago Albert Smijers published payments to the imperial musicians, but only to them of the chapel, while the other categories were considered unsystematically; but even among the "trometter", "kammermusici" and "servants on two and more horses" we find excellent composers. This dissertation, using the known sources and on the basis of new heuristics in the State Archives of Vienna, brings for the first time a complete list of all musicians of the Rudolf's court, including the period, function and wages development of their stay. Thanks to the extensive lists and graphs, it also present the specialization and career evolution of the Imperial musicians, number and quality of their extraordinary payments, bonuses etc. The conception of a first global view on the Rudolfine musical entourage in Prague will be complemented in a forthcoming monograph by a complete list of (Gnadengeld), it means "grace payments" to the musicians for their music dedications...

Criminality in Early Modern Bohemia. The Case of Říčany (1667-1757)

THESIS ABSTRACT PhDr. Jan Šimek Criminality in Early Modern Bohemia. The Case of Říčany (1667-1757) This work is a contribution to understanding of criminality in Bohemia in early modern period, which is conceived as a part of social history by the Czech historiography of the last decades. The main source comprises six volumes of court manuals that originated from the activities of the court for capital crimes in a serf town of Říčany u Prahy, and that cover time span of 1667-1757 and consist of 289 records of criminal trials. If we consider the structure of criminality analyzed by the established methodological schemes, the torts of property prevail unequivocally (37%), a considerable part is made up by the honour disputes (26%), and a lesser part is formed by offences against life and health (12%) and offences against morality (8%). Apart from the quantitative processing of the sources the attention is paid also to the characteristic features of the individual offences and the respective culprits in the perspective of historical anthropology. The very functioning of the court in Říčany in relation to the patrimonial administration, which was very tight till the beginning of the 18th century is analysed, too. Leaflets on Frederick Falck as a source for the development and perception of Czech issue in the years 1619-1632

Obraz Fridricha Falckého v letákové literatuře třicetileté války a reflexe českých událostí jsou na stránkách dobových letáků i v pozdějších hodnoceních historiografického rázu nerozlučně spojeny. Přijetím české koruny a spojením svého osudu s českým stavovským povstáním se tento král, jenž již od své svatby s Alžbětou Stuartovnou ztělesňoval naděje evropského protestantismu, stal osobností, která země české koruny reprezentovala a k níž se nadále upínaly naděje zdejšího protestantského obyvatelstva v dobách příznivých i nepříznivých. Z těchto důvodů se letáky, které se jeho osoby týkají, staly publicistickým fenoménem, jenž silně ovlivnil způsob, jakým české záležitosti vnímali jak sami obyvatelé českého království, tak obyvatelé německého říšského území a později i příslušníci různých exilových vln nekatolického obyvatelstva. Velká část těchto letáků souvisí s prvním publicistickým vzepětím třicetileté války a jejich spojitost s vnímáním vývoje české otázky je nezpochybnitelná. Z tohoto důvodu nespočívalo zadání mé práce v shromažďování důkazů pro tento známý fakt, ale spíše ve zmapování vzniku, průběhu, okolností, obsahu, mechanismů, charakteru, účinku a krátkodobých i dlouhodobých důsledků letákové komunikace v prostředí, v němž tyto tisky kolovaly. Ondřej Podavka Zdeněk Brtnický of Waldstein and his diary from the years 1597−1603 (Abstract) The subject of the doctoral thesis is an in many aspects noteworthy personality of Moravian aristocrat Zdeněk Brtnický of Waldstein, one of the 30 directors in the era of rebellion of the estates. The dissertation focuses chiefly on the period of his and pre-university and university studies, for which the largest amount of the sources has been preserved, primarily his voluminous personal diary. Zdeněk Brtnický of Waldstein was born on 12 May 1582. In his very childhood he became an orphan - his father Henry Brtnický of Waldstein and on Sádek died already in 1589, followed by his wife and Zdeněk's mother Susanne Helt of Kement three years later. First place where Waldstein is known to have studied, is Lutheran noblemen's school in Velké Meziříčí, which was founded by Waldstein's grandmother Alena Helt of Kement, born Meziříčská of Lomnice. From 1592 to 1594 he studied in Jihlava, then he studied in Brzeg in Silesia for other two years and in the summer 1596, equipped with good Latin education, he moved on to Strasbourg, where he stayed for three years and attended academy.
