Application of carbon based electrodes for electrochemical detection in flow system
Mika, Jan ; Dejmková, Hana (advisor) ; Fischer, Jan (referee)
Carbon is due to its electrochemical properties a favourite material for construction of electrodes suitable for detection in flow system. The two most often used techniques (coulometric and amperometric) will be discussed in this Thesis. Carbon paste electrodes (CPE) represent the amperometric detectors. CPE are unstable in the medium with high content of organic solvents, which might complicate their application in HPLC, where the mobile phase contains organic component. It is interesting, that glassy carbon paste electrodes are more stable under such conditions. The change of surface and response of the electrode caused by the effect of methanol are described in this Thesis along with the possible reason of stability of GCPE. Roughing of the surface exposed to methanol is demonstrated by confocal microscopy. This effect leads to increase of height of the peak, background current and noise and to the shift of peak potential to less positive values. These changes are dependent on the time of exposure and the concentration of methanol. Coulometric detectors work with high conversion effectiveness and sensitivity, but in case of their passivation, reactivation is a relatively complicated problem, often leading to the replacement of electrode material. Answer to this problem can be given by using...
Lifelong learning: diagnostics
Míka, Jan ; Beneš, Milan (advisor) ; Večeřa, Ivo (referee)
The present thesis attempts to find a general model for tailerod education of adults. The author start s off by defining the recipients in the current education landscape. Thereafter, he provides a comprehensive overview of both well- and less-known typologies (MBTI, Keirsey, Kolb, LS). Based on a critical assessment of the instruments in view of their appropriateness for the categorization in lifelong learning, the author concludes that the existing approaches, while offering valuable insight, may be less than optimal for the education of adults, the reason being the complexity of application. The thesis concludes with a proposed approach drawing on Jung's personality theory, outlining a general method for the education in differentiated groups that could prove useful. The thesis can serve as either a starting point for further empirical research to validate the practical approach towards the differentiated groups determined with the empiricaltheoretical model, or as a guide for junior practitioners.
Development and application of electrochemical flow-through detector with renewable working material
Mika, Jan ; Dejmková, Hana (advisor) ; Schwarzová, Karolina (referee) ; Metelka, Radovan (referee)
The aim of this thesis was development and initial testing of new porous electrochemical detector for flow-through arrangements, especially for flow injection analysis (FIA) and liquid chromatography. One of the most advantageous properties of the detector is simple renewal of working material and thus its suitability for determination of strongly passivating substances. Glassy carbon microbeads and copper microparticles were tested as a working material within this study. Initially, basic electrochemical properties of the glassy carbon-based detector were examined by FIA using hydroquinone and potassium ferrocyanide as model substances. For both model substances high degree of conversion was achieved (around 100 %), and thus it was concluded that glassy carbon-based detector can be considered as coulometric. Hereafter, practical application of the carbon-based detector are presented on five electrochemically active substances closely related to the human medicine and pharmacy - thymol, tyrosine, sulfamethizole and vanillylmandelic acid (VMA) simultaneously determinined with homovanillic acid (HVA). Complexity of instrumental arrangement of flow-through methods had been increasing consecutively up to the HPLC determination with gradient programme. It was proved that the carbon-based detector is...
Educational company in 2009
Juránková, Zdeňka ; Beneš, Milan (advisor) ; Mika, Jan (referee)
The thesis is focused on description of present adult education market situation. Incoming economic recession and problems in utilization of European Funds financial sources (mostly from the ESF) caused principal changes in this field. The demand of corporate education was highly affected. We try to illustrate the changes of the market and describe how the changed market works now. We also look for possibilities to succeed in the market. The thesi s describes the possibilities of companies which work with public sources. We don't mention the commercial education focused on corporate clients and public. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Implementation of HTML5 and CSS3
Míka, Jan ; Vondra, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Machek, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on testing and analysing HTML5 and CSS3. These programming languages are two most common languages for webdesign and webdeveloping. Theory part of this thesis introduces topic about the historical and current language specification. This part also explains role of CSS3 in conjuction with HTML5. In the main part, author defines common problems in coding, which are used for questionnaire research after that. The questionnaire itself is then created in the practical part. Questionnaire will be used for hypothes testing of statistic influence of defined measures. After that, ten elements will be chosen, which will be analysed and tested. At the end, the author measures advantages and disadvantage in using specific elements of these specifications.
Financial Plan for the Farm
Berková, Eva ; Svobodová, Ivana (advisor) ; Míka, Jan (referee)
The study presents a business plan for agriculture company Výkrm Tagrea s.r.o. The plan should ideally confirm that the company's prospectus is viable and should also assist a potential strategic partner in assessing the company. The study consists of two parts. The theoretical section is divided into several chapters, which describe the structure of the prospectus, its users and the reasons for its creation. The practical section focuses on the prospectus in a company that was set up in order to enter the business of building poultry farms. It also analyzes the background of the investment, the current situation in the field and the various processes in the company. The conclusion presents evaluation of the prospectus' effectiveness, including potential risks and proposals aimed at minimizing such risks.
