Culturally educational activity of Prachatice Regional Museum through the normalization.

The work describes, analyzes contents and forms of cultural-educative activities of The Prachatice History and Geography District Museum. In the first part you can find basic terms such as Normalization, museum and its cultural-educative activity which is one of its functions. The first part describes museum like an institution, its historical development and its position in normalisation age. The work shortly characterizes educational activity and its development, explains the historical role of the museum and forms of cultural-educative activities in normalization time. The second part of this work closely presents characteristics of the Prachatice History and Geography District Museum, monitoring its beginning and development. It is searched particular forms of given period of time, his beginning and process to put museum under state control. Then there is described truly realized cultural-educative activity in chosen years and it is analyzed in connection with normative requirements and methodical literature.

Citizens participation in the town life on a case study in Mnichovice

The civic participation is an active approach of the citizen who has possibility of using more or less formalized tools to influence public affairs. This diploma thesis "Citizens participation in the town life on a case study in Mnichovice" will deal with civic participation in a small town close to Prague - Mnichovice. The level of participation will be analyzed by the OECD (information, consultation, active participation) town hall uses, what factors influence participation rates, what motivates people to engage in participation and what discourages vice versa and which particular forms of cooperation with citizens are effective for local public administration. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis deals with the historical development of civil participation in decision making processes, analyzes legislation of the Czech Republic to describe the theoretical participation and engagement in different types of participation in the various approaches and finally explores options of participation in a small town with 3200 residents, which is located in the suburbia of Prague, 30 km south-east from the center of the capitol city. The role of the citizens and civil participation - development or slow death of democracy?

This thesis focuses on the central concept, which is civic participation. Problematic base is significant deficit of the czech democratic systém in relation to civic participation. This is reflected on practise through separation and undeveloped communication with citizens. Thesis strives to describe some of the causes of this. Term of civic participation is thinked of in relation to democracy, but also in the context of public policy and ethics. Thesis strives to capture the irreplaceable importance of civicparticipation in relation to development and stability of democratic mechanisms. Thesis is also focusing on its important function of checking the execution of public authority. Therefore, there are also analyzed different control tools (participatory control tools) which enable citizens to effective public control. The thesis points out the lack of ethical debate throughout the company, which has negativ impact not only for civic participation, but also for the quality of public policy and democracy as a whole. Explanation of mutually conditional relationship between civic participation, ethic and public policy and their benefits for democracy, is an important part of the thesis. Constructing Participatory Spaces: Involving Citizens into the Urban Development Planning from the View of Planners

The work deals with constructing of participatory spaces in the process of urban development planning. The topic of involving citizens into planning is viewed from the point of planners. A concept of participation in this text is conceived in the sense of invented spaces built from above. The research perspective is an interpretative one, anchored in the constructivist epistemology. Therefore the main question is: How do planners reflect involving citizens in the planning? Firstly, the authoress demonstrates the importance of her topic by putting it into the context of wider social dynamics related to the crises of representative democracy and emerging of sub-politics. She reveals that the trend of building participatory opportunities is strengthening. The important question is formulated: How is the role of public in the strategic planning constructed? On the base of analytical induction of semi-structured interviews with planners, the authoress creates her own typology of ideal-type approaches to participation. These types of approaches came out from a distinction of the extent and the aim of spaces of participation. The involvement of citizens can be seen either as building of community, activation of elites, mapping of public preferences or as consultation with local experts.

Diploma thesis "Relevance of the Regional Development Agencies in the Relation to the Regional Development" in the forepart puts regional development agencies to the context of the theoretic frameworks, which works with during their analysis. It is possible to classify the regional development agencies as significant actors in the area of regional development. The goal of this diploma thesis is to notify the importance of the regional development agencies using quantification of inputs and outputs of their activities to sort the agencies into different categories. The categorization of the regional development agencies will form conditions for partial comparison and evaluation of operation of these agencies.

Evaluation of strategic planning by addressing public in forum planning

This thesis focuses on communication of strategic planning of municipalities in the Czech Republic. Communication is viewed from the position of the authors of media messages. The author demonstrates firstly the importance of the level of information awareness as a prerequisite for citizens' participation in formulating public policies and places the issue of participation in the concept of governance. On the basis of media analysis the data from 1996 to 2014 and five main criteria, from which relies for further data interpretation in connection with the strategic plans of cities and municipalities, author identifies major trends in communicating the topic in the media. The main question for this thesis is: What is the experience with communication of strategic plans of municipalities and cities of the Czech Republic in the media? This question evokes another sub- questions, which in the context of media analysis will need to be answered. How are the strategic plans called in the media? How are they explained to the public? What other techniques of explanation of complex planning process can we engage? The looking back to projects of operational programme The development of human resources in Pardubice Region: Or how it is uneasy to be an applicant for European money

The author of diploma thesis "The looking back to projects of operational programme The development of human resources in Pardubice Region: Or how it is uneasy to be an applicant for European money" focuses on difficulties which was battled by the applicants from Pardubice region. These difficulties are uncovered by questionnaires and they are faced with discrepances between documents written both at European and national level. The author looks for theoretical resources in the theory of organization and in the linear model of public administration in order to come to the conclusion that this model is strictly complied. She tries to discover possible causations of this problem and reason for its (non)solution. So she makes use of an actor analysis to uncover relationships between actors and their definitions of the problem. At the close, she compares these preferred solutions and she chooses one of them for the reason that this solution would be the best to deal with the problem.
