What patients need and what they miss from nurses.
KŘÍŽ, Miroslav
Human needs accompany a person throughout the entire life. They can be characterized as a property of the organism, which gives an impulse to perform certain activities or search for a certain conditions necessary for life. Needs have a direct effect on the person's mental aspect. If a person fails to satisfy his or her needs, mental well-being is disrupted. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to find out in which area of nursing care patients feel a deficit. It was focused on the needs of patients hospitalized in the standard inpatient ward, who are not satisfied with the nurses to a sufficient extent or quality. The work deals with the care provided and whether it corresponds with the ideas of patients, whether it meets their expectations, and what shortcomings they encountered during their hospitalization. The basis of the work is the theoretical part, in which we described the patient's personality and their approach to health and illness. We characterized the profession of a nurse and the prerequisites for its performance. We focused on the relationship between a nurse and a patient, their mutual communication and cooperation. We have defined human needs, their division, satisfaction and barriers that complicate their fulfilment. We also talked about the care provided in inpatient wards, which is performed by the nursing process method. In the research part of the bachelor thesis we used a qualitative method of data collection. Through a semi-structured interview, we obtained information from patients hospitalized in the inpatient department of the hospital. The data obtained were processed by the pencil-paper coding method. The results of the interviews showed that a large number of nurses provide care to a sufficient extent and of appropriate quality. They actively seek and satisfy the needs of patients with helpfulness and tact. The informants find the nurses' care to be of good quality and observe that its level is constantly improving. They appreciate that a smile is often seen on faces of many nurses. Deficiencies were found in the care of immobile patients who were not provided with fully adequate care. In elderly patients, there isn't always enough time provided for the performance of required procedure. Some nurses cannot communicate properly with patients. They show signs of superiority and lesser self-control abilities. All informants talk about the high workload of nurses who work in small numbers, which leads to time pressure and failure to perform all the procedures needed to provide quality care. Informants see the main source of problems in the low number of nurses. This work could be a lesson for nurses who are in direct contact with patients. Many of them provide their care based on a medical diagnosis, doctor's instructions, or learned routine. But it is important to realize that nursing care is a wide range of activities that are based on what the person being cared for needs.
The Red Army Fraction - Left Terrorism in Germany
Kříž, Miroslav ; Handl, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pešek, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals with the theme of the Red Army Fraction. Special emphasis is put on the cooperation between the West-German terrorist organization and the State Security of the German Democratic Republic. This thesis follows genesis of the left terrorism in the Federal Republic of Germany in the context of cooperation with the GDR Ministry of Security. The first part of the work analyses the origin of the group, followed by its activities until the end. The next part is devoted to a brief survey of bilateral contacts of both the German states from the mid 60s to the late 80s of the last century. This is the basis for the following chapter. The relevant part of this thesis is represented by chapter 3 which gives analysis of the competition between Stasi and RAF terrorist groups, from the early contacts of the 1st RAF generation members. It mentions the participation of Bewegung 2.Juni terrorist group in the development of the true competition of the so called Second Generation of RAF and Stasi, and, consequently, chapter 3 offers the analysis of the reasons for which the special RAF terrorist group left for the GDR {the so called aussteigers}, from their integration, special tasks fulfilling in the frame of the conception of RAF -Stasi cooperation until their arrest in 1990. The final part of chapter 1 is...
Preparation and evaluation of new potential antimicrobial drugs and prodrugs
Imramovský, Aleš ; Vinšová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Kríž, Miroslav (referee) ; Pazdera, Pavel (referee)
5. SUMMARY This thesis deals with the synthesis of antimicrobial active compounds from the group of salicylanilide derivates that were found to be highly antituberculosis active compounds against atypical and resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. These derivates served as the starting substances for the synthesis of prodrugs of acetic acid and amino acid esters, with the aim to reduce toxicity and to optimize physico-chemical properties and transport to the site of action. The second group under investigation was new modifications of some contemporary antituberculosis drug (isoniazide and pyrazinamide), the combination of either of these two compounds with second active molecule through an easily splitting methane bridge, which together could serve as depot forms, after release of both parts they may act as synergists. The outcomes of a literary search, that forewent synthesis, were published as survey articles in scientific papers. They deal with: a) cyclization forms of prodrugs (paper I), b) salicylanilides and their research trends (paper II) and c) isoniazide, its mechanism of activity and structure modifications published till now (paper V). The main scope of the thesis is experimental parts whose results were parcially published and belong to enclosed articles (paper III, IV and VI)....
