Room temperature ethanol detection using carbon materials
Kočí, Michal
Allotropic forms of carbon, in particular graphene oxide (GO) or nanocrystalline diamond (NCD), attracted the attention of many research groups due to their unique electronic structures and extraordinary physical and chemical properties, preferable for many different applications, including sensor devices. This work focuses on responses of various sensing layers (NCD with hydrogen termination (H-NCD), graphene oxide (GO), reduced graphene oxide (rGO), thiol-functionalized graphene oxide (GO-SH) and their hybrid structures to ethanol vapor with concentrations up to 100 ppm in synthetic air at room temperature. The measured parameters of the tested sensors, especially stability, reproducibility and regeneration, are compared and critically evaluated. The high sensitivity of tested sensors achieved at room temperature makes them very promising for monitoring ethanol vapor as well as other volatile substances (e.g., isopropyl-alcohol or acetone).
Development and measurement of gas sensors for room temperature applications
Kočí, Michal
Gas sensing properties of a nanocrystalline diamond with a hydrogen-terminated surface (H-terminated NCD) and a molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) are investigated as conductivity sensors with built-in interdigital metal electrode structures. The H-terminated NCD was prepared by plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD), and the MoS2 by a carbide-free one-zone sulfurization method. The sensor's responses were measured for oxidizing (NO2) and reducing (NH3) gases by the same equipment and setup. The parameters of the tested sensors are compared and critically evaluated. Advantageously, the MoS2/H-terminated NCD heterostructure enhances the gas sensing response at room temperature compared to the H-terminated NCD and MoS2 layers.

Kočí, Michal ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor) ; Sak, Petr (referee)
An objective of this diploma work is to make out, what pupils' lifestyle at second-degree of elementary schools in town district of Prague 10 is up to date and how this acquirement can be applied to create primary prevention program in the Authority of Municipal Part Prague 10 and elementary schools, which settlor Municipal Part Prague 10 is. Another aim of the work is to introduce in what form a contemporary program of primary prevention by the Authority of Municipal Part Prague 10 is being applied. In the theoretical part, there are outlined causes of social-pathological behaviour of children and teenagers, stated features and occurrence quantity of the wrongful behaviour; the work involves a family treatment of group of children and teenagers. The prevention problems are included in whole scope, from determination of prevention designation, kinds of prevention programmes as far as to particular institutions of public administration, which pay attention to these problems. It attends in detail to section of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and consequently how the capital Prague and Municipal Part Prague 10 stand for the problems. n the practical part, there are concerned results from interview, which was performed during October 2008 at the second-degree of all elementary schools in town...
Hospital Drug Formularies in the Czech Republic
Kočí, Michal ; Kolář, Jozef (advisor) ; Kotlářová, Jana (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy Candidate Mgr. Michal Kočí Consultant doc. RNDr. Jozef Kolář, CSc. Title of Thesis Hospital Drug Formularies in the Czech Republic Drug formularies have been used for more than 50 years. Their importance in the hospital sector is increasing as more and more therapeutic alternatives arise and the drug-costs grow as well. Hospital drug formulary system is one of the most widely used mechanisms hospitals use to optimise their drug policy. The goal of the thesis was to evaluate the usage of the system on the sample of the Czech hospitals and to offer potential improve-ment. The starting point was to compile the current knowledge on the hospital drug formulary usage. The questionnaire based on the found data was designed to obtain the information on drug formulary system usage in the particular hospital. Then the questionnaire was sent to various Czech hospitals; at the same time, the questionnaire (translated into English) was sent to a German university hospital. By analyzing the obtained data a summary on up-to-date state of hospital drug formulary usage in the Czech Republic was produced. The principal result is that out of thirteen hospitals that sent the required information back, three...

Synthesis and in vitro evaluation of bispyridinium type acetylcholinesterase inhibitors Michal Kočí Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Praze ABSTRACT: Competitive acetylcholinesterase (AChE, EC 3.1.1.7) inhibitors are routinely used as prophylactics against nerve agents intoxication in the Czech Army. The goal of the thesis has been to rationally design new bis-quaternary pyridinium compounds, prepare them and finally assess their in vitro inhibition activity. The molecules have originated in variably substituted pyridine-derivates and different connecting linkages (6-12 carbon atoms). Compounds derived from 4-(3-hydroxypropyl)pyridine were successfully synthesized as the representatives of the hydroxyalkyl-derived inhibitors; the more lipophilic inhibitors have been derived from ethyl- isonicotinate. The preparation took place in dimethylformamide, at temperatures varying from 60 řC to 75 řC. The identity and purity of the prepared compounds were confirmed by NMR- analysis, elementary analysis and mass spectrometry. Finally, the Ellman's method was used for the inhibitory screening. 14 molecules were synthesised, 7 substances from each structural group. Compounds of both series showed significant inhibitory properties towards...

Functionality of the electronic shop Alza.cz and comparison between the e-shops Czech Computer and Mironet
Kočí, Michal ; Kučerová, Helena (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to give the description of the functionalities of the electronic shop Alza.cz. It deals with the appearance of and ordering of information on the e-shop's website. The paper provides a description of how the Alza system operates, the functions and possibilities it offers. The bachelor thesis illustrates concrete shopping and customer ordering procedures. The focus of this project is the comparison of functionalities between the eshops Alza.cz, Czech Computer and Mironet. The whole project is based on a survey of the individual e-shops with the purpose of finding out the differences between the systems they apply.
The Internet and analysis of a Czech Internet user behaviour
Kočí, Michal ; Doucek, Petr (advisor) ; Střížová, Vlasta (referee)
This diploma thesis describes the Internet as a medium which offers a wide spectrum of services, information, possibilities and furthermore as an omnipotent tool for searching information. This modern medium is specified, characterized, described and defined. The diploma thesis indicates what the Internet includes and what services it offers. Main concepts and options of searching and acquiring information are indicated as well. The practical part of the diploma thesis includes realization and following evaluation of a question-form investigation, which characterizes behaviour of a Czech Internet user. The goal is to prepare a suitable question-form about the behaviour of Internet users, to distribute the question-form and to evaluate and analyze the modern Czech Internet user by utilizing the resulting data and other study material.
