Japanese people see Tezuka Osamu as a significant figure of Japanese comic in 20th century, who gained nicknames as ‚god of manga' or ‚Japanese Walt Disney' during his life. Cryptic Rearrangements of Human Chromosomes Associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Křivánková, Anna ; Šolc, Roman (advisor) ; Růžičková, Šárka (referee)
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are heterogeneous group of neurodevelopmental disabilities characterized by antisociality and atypical behavioral patterns. Its etiology is very complex, autism is usually formed by combining many factors. One of the causes may be genetic (gene mutation). It is known about 450 candidate genes for ASD so far. Minority of these genes occur in loci which are affected by cryptic rearrangements. These rearrangements significantly contribute to manifestation of this disorder. Patologies they cause, lead to syndromes with high penetrance for ASD such as Angelman/Prader-Willi or DiGeorge syndrome. Other loci are found on chromosome 1, 2 or 16. Due to short time of studies of cryptic rearrangements, phenotypic variability and number of patients we can expect more researches in the future. These researches are expected not to overlook the impact of the aberrations on formation of autism spectrum disorders.

Visual Language of Japanese Comics: Analysis of Function and Usage of Selected Graphic Elements
Svatá, Eva ; Řehořová, Irena (advisor) ; Křivánková, Anna (referee)
The thesis presents selected visual elements of Japanese comics, particularly graphic narrative elements. The components of the visual grammar, such as pictorial symbols, motion lines and practices, which enable the visual representation of the specific phenomenons and concepts that are non-visible in a real life are discussed. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the introduction and explanation of functions and differences between these elements, and presents the means of visual structures to convey the meaning to their readers. Followingly, the final part of the thesis deals with the comparison and analysis of the narrative components and tools, as well as with the possibilities of their usage. The selected methods of comics expression and the chosen narrative components are presented on dataset of selected examples from manga production. Keywords: Manga, Japanese Visual Language, graphic elements, narrative structure, visual grammar Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Study of BMI trajectories depending on lifestyle factors - longitudinal study of Czech adolescents
Křivánková, Anna ; Zamrazilová, Hana (advisor) ; Boženský, Jan (referee)
Obesity is a serious metabolic disease that often occurs in childhood. Up to 55 % of obese children continue to be obese until adolescence and then 80 % of these obese adolescents remain obese in adulthood. This diploma thesis follows the results of the first round of the study Childhood Obesity Prevalence and Treatment (COPAT). Analyzes the data found in 2009-2010 in relation with the results from 2018. The aim of this work was to determine the prevalence of overweight, obesity, metabolic syndrome, hidden (normal-weight) obesity and to examine the factors potentially contributing to the development of excessive body weight in the participants in the second round of COPAT study. After eight years, 12 % of the original sample, ie 246 probands (150 women and 96 men), were repeatedly examined within the diploma thesis. The examinations took place at the Institute of Endocrinology in Prague and consisted of fasting blood, clinical examination (blood pressure and pulse measurement; determination of body composition by bioimpedance analysis) and anthropometric examination. All participants also completed an on-line questionnaire consisting of three parts (personalized questionnaire; Eating inventory questionnaire; Baecke questionnaire of habitual physical activity). The obtained data were processed using...
Image of Woman in Japanese Popular Culture in the 2nd half of the 20th century
Křivánková, Anna ; Sýkora, Jan (advisor) ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Tirala, Martin (referee)
This thesis follows my previous studies of modern Japanese society and popular culture. I will especially focus on gender stereotypes, particularly negative stereotypes concerning women who refuse to bow to a substantial pressure from society endowed with a strong Confucian tradition. It was this very tradition - together with a foreign concept akin to the Western domesticity cult - what gave rise to the ideal of "good wife, wise mother" (rjósai kenbo), which at least in some form remains quite tangible even in contemporary Japanese society. One of the tasks this thesis wants to undertake is to describe how the negative stereotyping of women who stood in either conscious or natural opposition towards this ideal affected portrayal of women in Japanese popular culture (especially comics), which can be a very good perpetuator of all kinds of stereotypes. At the same time, I would like to find out whether it managed to partially subvert at least some of the negative images of women who refused to be good wives and wise mothers. Key words: gender stereotypes, Japan, popular culture, comics, rjósai kenbo, manga
