Selected factors affecting patient satisfaction at the dental hygienist office

Aim: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out which factors associated with dental hygiene are the most important for patient satisfaction. Introduction: There are many factors affecting patient satisfaction. These factors do not carry equal weight , which means that some factors are more important for patient satisfaction then others. Patient satisfaction is an essential thing for good cooperation with the medical staff. If patients are satisfied with their visit, they are more likely to heed the advice and recommendations given by the dental hygienist. Methods: To obtain the required information, a questionnaire was made and it was mostly given in paper form to patients just after their dental hygiene appointment. The same questionnare was also made online at the Survio website and sent to those patients who requested it so that they could fill it in later. The respondents had to be at least 18 years old and needed to have visited a dental hygienst at least once before. There were 130 respondents in total. Results: The survey has shown that the patients who were satisfied with their visit of a dental hygienist felt so because of the attitude or behaviour of the latter. Dental hygiene in shelters in Prague

Aim: To determine the state of oral health in the residents of shelters for mothers with children and the equipment of dental aids for home care of the oral cavity Introduction: Mothers who find themselves in shelters with their children are in a difficult life and financial situation, where they can be supported by the shelter and its social workers for at least some time. To date, no studies have been conducted in the Czech Republic to examine the oral health of clients of shelters for mothers with children. Methodology: A questionnaire was compiled in Microsoft Word, which contained 22 questions. I handed over the questionnaires to the social workers of individual shelters for mothers with children in Prague. The return rate was 49 questionnaires. Mothers answered not only for themselves, but also for their children for some questions. The data were evaluated using Microsoft Excel. Results: Most mothers from shelters do not visit a dentist regularly, the most common reasons for the absence of visits are concerns about financial demands and the fact that they do not have a dentist. The influence of saliva in an oral cavity

VLIV KONZUMACE VYBRANÝCH NÁPOJŮ NA PH SLINY Soňa ULIČNÁ Školitel: MDDr. Diana Sádovská Stomatologická klinika, 3.LF UK v Praze Úvod: Slina je tekutina nacházející se v dutině ústní. Je sem vylučována ze slinných žláz. Zvlhčuje všechny povrchy v dutině ústní, zajišťuje jejich omývání, je důležitá pro vnímání chuti a tvorbu sousta, díky pufrační funkci je schopná vyrovnávat kyseliny. V neposlední řadě je důležité, že slina je zdrojem iontů potřebných při remineralizaci, má i antibakteriální funkci a ze složek sliny se vytváří na povrchu zubů pelikula. Slina má tedy v dutině ústní vliv na spoustu biologických pochodů a při jejím nedostatku vznikají četné patologie. Cíl: Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak káva nebo čaj mění pH sliny a jak se na této změně projeví ochucení těchto nápojů. Zjišťovala jsem také, který z vybraných nápojů je nejvhodnější a který naopak nejvíce snižuje pH a mohl by být nejvíce kariogenní. Soubor a metodika: Byla zjišťována změna pH sliny po konzumaci černé kávy, kávy s cukrem, kávy s mlékem, kávy s mlékem a cukrem, ovocného čaje, ovocného čaje s cukrem a ovocného čaje s cukrem a citronem.
