State budget of the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis deals with the state budget of the Czech Republic. It is focused on the state budget as a whole (its creation and budgetary procedure especially affected by political decisions, instruments and function etc.). There is introduced the evaluation of trends of the budget between years 1993-2007 in the thesis. Since 1997 until 2010, the Czech Republic has the deficit budget. The trends in partial years are demonstrated by way of the charts, and on these bases, the analysis, comments and conclusion were carried out. Further, the budgetary positions in the countries of European Union and in the Czech Republic are described. .

Myths about Domestic Violence in Comparison with Reality

The diploma thesis on the topic of "Myths about Domestic Violence in Comparison with Reality" deals with incorrect and false notions which are connected with the given phenomenon. In the first part fundamental concepts, definitions, signs, types and forms are explained. The following part considers particular groups of myths about domestic violence. The first group focuses on myths denying the existence of the problem itself, where a myth about domestic violence as a private issue and a myth classifying domestic violence as a common struggle between partners are discussed. The second group deals with myths connected with the socioeconomic status of a family in which domestic violence takes place. The third group focuses on women and myths that it is women who are the causes of violence that their partners commit on them. It also deals with the effects which violence leaves on women. The last group of myths concentrates on men as batterers in domestic violence and perception of risk factors which can lead to their violent behaviour. The thesis relates to already existing publications, statistics and researches, in Czech as well as foreign literature.

Status of Teacher (international comparison)

The diploma thesis "Social status of a teacher (international comparison)" analyzes and compares the social status of a teacher in the Czech Republic with chosen European countries. The first part is focused on historical development of teachers' profession in the Czech Republic. Next part identifies characteristics of teachers' occupation. The third chapter compares working conditions of Czech teachers in the international comparison with use of statistical data. Problems of teachers' occupation are described in the last part of the thesis.

Immigration and Unemployment in Spain

The aim of the thesis is to analyze and define the relationship between immigration and unemployment in Spain and its influence upon immigration and unemployment in the European Union. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the two global phenomena in the context of Spanish environment. Using a synthetic approach, these spheres are compared at different levels, especially in terms of the free movement of persons and labor. Their economic manifestations in the migration and asylum policy of the country, the integration of immigrants, and social effects of legal and illegal immigration are examined through both its theoretical and practical aspects. Emphasis is placed either on the overall impact and factors' implications influencing migration flows in the region and on the development of unemployment in the researched area. The policy changes induced in justice and home affairs within the EU before and after the adoption of the Treaty of Lisbon are examined by the comparative method. There are also outlined both Spanish and European migration strategies. These results are discussed by using a prognostic method and through the demographic future of Europe. At the end of the thesis, main ideas and crucial points are summarized.

Childhood in Zbraslav in the 1930s and 1940s

The diploma thesis entitled The Childhood in Zbraslav in the 1930s and 1940s aims to answer the question what made childhood in Zbraslav in this time period distinctive and what features were the most influential. The first part is rather theoretical and describes the concept of a family based on the findings of sociology and history. As the concept of childhood is closely intertwined with family, we cannot separate the two from one another and need to focus on both. Overview of the most important scientific findings made by prominent experts from the field can be found in this section. The second part is practical; based on four distinctive components of children's lives which the author regards as important due to their influence on the childhood as well as on the future development of the child's personality and life in the adulthood. Those features are family life, school, reading, and free time activities. Although there has been a number of books and articles written about Zbraslav, only a small amount has focused on the 20th century and even less on childhood. As a result, the diploma thesis is based mainly on interviews with contemporaries from Zbraslav. The Position of the Czech Republic in the European Union

Analýza ekonomického postavení České republiky v rámci prostoru Evropské unie představuje především v České republice významnou oblast současného ekonomického výzkumu. Jedním z témat, kterými se současná ekonomie v uvedené oblasti zabývá, je problematika maastrichtských kritérií, jejichž vzorné plnění je nutné budoucímu přistoupení České republiky do Evropské měnové unie, které se předpokládá již v roce 2010. Cílem mé práce bylo především posouzení jednotlivých ekonomických ukazatelů České republiky, a to zejména ve vztahu původním patnácti členům Evropské unie a zároveň nynější evropské pětadvacítce. Srovnávání dosažených makroekonomických ukazatelů se vztahuje období let 2002 až 2005. Takto vymezené období umožňuje mimo jiné i srovnání makroekonomických ukazatelů v jednotlivých zemích před nejnovějším rozšířením Evropské unie a po něm.
