Damková, Adéla ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Michaela (referee)
The bachelor's thesis on the possibilities of objective examination of children with fecal incontinence is presented in the form of a review with case studies. The introductory theoretical part is devoted to the basic anatomical knowledge of the pelvic floor, the physiology of the defecation process, micturition, and the mechanism of fecal incontinence, as well as the often associated urinary incontinence. Furthermore, the causes of fecal incontinence with regard to the pediatric population are mentioned. The special section includes methods of evaluation and examination of fecal incontinence used in pediatric patients, and last but not least, the issue of biofeedback as a therapy aimed at strengthening the pelvic floor muscles is presented. The practical part of the thesis includes two case studies of patients, which include an initial kinesiological examination, therapy description, and photo documentation.
The effect of endometriosis on pelvic floor function
Vaňková, Eva ; Šafářová, Marcela (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Michaela (referee)
Thesis focuses on the comparison of results obtained from the questionnaires MEDI-Q, PFIQ-7 and a questionnaire designed by the author between a group of women diagnosed with endometriosis who have not undergone surgery and a control group without dysmenorrhea. The theoretical part is dedicated to the etiology and clinical symptoms of the disease, mentioning risk factors, classification, diagnostical methods and treatment options. The thesis also mentions the typical postural findings in patients with endometriosis after a literature review. Methodology: A total of 110 women were included in the study, 49 with endometriosis and 61 in a control qroup. Women completed the above-mentioned questionnaires electronically on the 1st day of their menstrual bleeding. Recruitment of subjects was mainly through the social network. Results: Significant differences (p <0.001) were demonstrated between the two groups using the MEDI-Q and PFIQ questionnaires with the endometriosis group achieving higher scores. Different types of endometriosis have varying distributions of symptoms within pelvic floor dysfunction. Almost 9/10 women with endometriosis need to suppress pain associated with menstrual cycle with analgetics for more than 1 day and often suffer from chronic pelvic pain. Discussion: Women with endometriosis have...

Novotná, Dominika ; Havlíčková, Michaela (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
Bibliographical report NOVOTNÁ, Dominika. Physiotherapy in dysmenorrhea. Prague: Charles University, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, 2022. 110 pages, 7 attachments. Thesis supervisor Mgr. Michaela Havlíčková. Abstract The theme of this bachelor's thesis is dysmenorrhea, one of a common problems in women. Physiology of the menstrual cycle and the effect of sex hormones on the female body, description and pathogenesis of primary and secondary dysmenorrhea, pain and its connection to the cycle are all included in the theoretical part as well as functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system typically found in patients suffering from dysmenorrhea. Theoretical part then stresses the importance of differential diagnosis between primary and secondary dysmenorrhea and is concluded by a summary of individual methods and concepts used in the therapy of both primary and, if possible, secondary dysmenorrhea. Knowledge from the theoretical part is then used in the practical part: case report of a patient with primary dysmenorrhea which contains of kinesiological analysis and therapy using selected methods of physical therapy. Keywords Primary dysmenorrhea, secondary dysmenorrhea, menstrual cycle, pain, physiotherapy . I agree the thesis paper to be lent within the library...
Pudendal nerve neuralgia
Kozlová, Kateřina ; Havlíčková, Michaela (advisor) ; Oplatková, Lenka (referee)
1 Abstract This research bachelor thesis with case report deals with neuralgia of the pudendal nerve. In the theoretical part, the anatomical and kinesiological insight into the pelvic floor will be described, the course of the nervus pudendus, its innervation districts and the possibilities of variation in the course. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, the knowledge about pudendal neuralgia, such as symptomatology, etiology, diagnosis and intervention options with regard to physiotherapy and electrotherapy will be elaborated. In the practical part the knowledge from the theoretical part will be used and applied to a patient with chronic pelvic pain. To objectify the results, a visual analogue scale and questionnaires that the patient fills in during the initial and exit examination will be used and the results will be compared. The aim of the practical part is to reduce pain and discomfort after a series of therapies. Keywords Nervus pudendus, pudendal neuralgia, sensitization, manual therapy
Manual techniques for adhesion in abdominal cavity
Šafránková, Johana ; Havlíčková, Michaela (advisor) ; Pešková, Lucie (referee)
Although the presence of peritoneal adhesions in abdominal cavity concerns a great number of patients, the topic is not sufficiently understood yet and the prevention of adhesion formation as well as the treatment of already developed adhesions represents a major issue. This thesis explores available literature on peritoneal adhesions and the possibilities of their manual treatment. This thesis describes the development of peritoneal adhesions, diagnostic options, innervation and its link to chronic pain caused by the adhesions. It also explores mechanical properties of soft tissues and a major part of the thesis considers the options of manual treatment and prevention of adhesions. The thesis also includes one case study of a patient in whom some of the described therapeutic techniques were performed and, based on a follow-up examination, objectifying questionnaire and painscale outcomes, their influence on the patient condition was assessed. Key words Peritoneal adhesions, peritoneal wound healing, peritoneal adhesions formation, manual treatment of peritoneal adhesions
ESWT in Achilles tendinopathy
Hojková, Lýdie ; Demeková, Júlia (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Michaela (referee)
Achilles tendinopathy is a painful condition formed by chronic overuse. Conservative treatement requires activity modification, heel lifts, arch supports, even immobilisation. There are often unsatisfactory results with it. The use of ESWT has recently been introduced in soft-tissue disorders including epicondylitis, plantar fasciitis, calcifitation of the shloulder and, as well, Achilles tendinopathy. The aim of the work was to introduce the effects of ESWT on soft tissues, types of generation and new posibilities in ESWT therapy in Achilles tendinopathy.
The Influence of Kinesiotaping on postural stability in patients after total hip arthroplasty
Tani, Klejda ; Havlíčková, Michaela (advisor) ; Čech, Zdeněk (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to evaluate and objectify the effects of Kinesiotaping on postural stability in pacients after total hip arthroplasty. The theoretical section of the thesis concentrates on providing information about the total hip arthroplasty, the stability of the motion systems and Kinesiotaping. Based on these information was assembled a report plan and hypotheses. The second part analyses the impact of Kinesiotaping on the activation of the trunk and femoral muscles during selected dynamic activities by using surface electromyography.
The anterior cruciate ligament injury dependency on the menstrual cycle phase in young women
Posekaná, Pavlína ; Pešicová, Lucie (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Michaela (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to summarize the topic of the anterior cruciate ligament (LCA) injury dependency on the menstrual cycle phase of young women with regular sport activity. The general part describes basic knowledge about connective tissue, LCA, issues of LCA injury and related risk situations. Large chapter is dedicated to sex hormones and menstrual and ovarian cycle, which is crucial for understanding the whole topic. The main part is focused on impact of sex hormones and hormonal contraception on connective tissue, but also on muscle and nervous tissues, which might be as well important for LCA injury incidence. Next part of the thesis consists of a questionnaire survey. 52 respondents aged 15-35 with rupture or partial rupture of LCA answered the non-standardized questionnaire compiled specially for this thesis and the results were statistically processed. 14 respondents were using hormonal contraception, remaining 38 had physiological menstrual cycle. Based on the theoretical findings we expected highest incidence of LCA injuries among women without contraception in phases of menstrual cycle with highest levels of oestrogen (10th -15th day). That was confirmed (P-value: 0,0218) as well as overall lower incidence among women using contraception (P-value: 0,0006). Expected higher...
The effect of body position on pressure in anus during relaxation and contraction of the pelvic floor muscles. Pilot manometric study
Burianová, Eliška ; Havlíčková, Michaela (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
This Research thesis is focused on the influence of body position on the function of pelvic floor muscles (PFM). Anatomical structures, kinesiology and neurophysiology of the PFM are described in the theoretical part of this thesis. It also discusses the methodology used for objective evaluation of the PFM. For the practical part of this thesis, 30 healthy subjects (aged 20 - 30 years, 15 male, 15 female) where chosen via a questionnaire. The subjects were examined via the method of anorectal manometry. The goal of the examination was to measure the distribution of a) resting pressure in the anal canal in selected positions, b) pressure during voluntary maximal contraction of PFM and sphincters in selected positions, c) pressure during 20 seconds of voluntary contraction. Selected positions are: lying on the back; lying on the back with legs elevated and held in "three flexion"; kneeling on all fours with palm support; kneeling on all fours with elbow support; squatting, and standing. Results: a) The resting pressure is influenced by the body position. Highest resting pressure was observed in squatting and standing positions, lowest resting pressure was measured on subjects while kneeling on all fours with elbow support. No significant difference was observed between male and female subjects in...
