Czechoslovak CIAM Chapter after the Second World War

Swiftly describing Czechoslovak participation in the thirties the stress of this dissertation on the history of the Czechoslovak CIAM chapter after the second war. It describes the success of the Czechoslovak presentation on the congress in Bridgwater (national and regional plannig), the cooperation on the development of the CIAM Grid with Le Corbusier, the missed opportunity to hold the congress in Prague, the impact of centralization on the Czechoslovak CIAM group, the influence of socialist realism on East European countries, the unabled activities on the following three congresses and finaly the renewed participation at the last congress in Dubrovnik. While doing so it concentrates itself on four themes: regional planning, synthesis of the arts, historical centres and habitat which were all discussed at post-war CIAM.

Artefacts arising during this period became the basis for art collections Memorial resistence after 1920. Many artists-legionnaries stood at the birth of this institucion, dedicated to its works and also participated in the operation. Mutual cooperation continued after the merger of Memorial resistence with other military-historical institutions in one institution - the Liberation Monument in 1928.
Novodvroska Housing Estate - Architecture and Urbanism

The topic of bachelor thesis is Prague housing development Novodvorská. Thesis will introduce in a monographic elaboration the project of the housing development and its location, construction process, the architecture and urban solutions, also the persons of architects. It deals also with the internal conception of housing estate, color scheme, object of small and lanandscape architecture and especially artworks and their authors, often important representatives of the generation. Thesis will introduce the projet within a brief historic context. Will compare Novodvorska with contemporary housing projects of the first half of 1960s, its specific and common features. On a theretical level it will focus on contemporary issues of housing developments urbanism and discussion about their construction. At the end it will assess the level of the data funds that were gained.

The role of popular culture in British and Czechoslovak art in the 50's and 60's of the 20th century Bachelor thesis approaches the early work of Eduardo Paolozziho and Jiří Kolář, especially their collages created in the 50's of the 20th century. Attention is focused on the relationship between art of the Eastern and the Western block and its social and political context. It represents the situation of the British and Czechoslovak art that influenced both of the creators. Detail is given to collage technique, its history and the way both creators used it and what results independently arrived. The conclusion deals with the issue of the journal and collages which signified pop art approaches. Attention is focused on possible deeper understanding of both collage artists based on tetrade questions by Marshall McLuhan.
