Possibilities of employing the profession of addictologist in pedagogical-psychological counselling centres: pilot study of the Ústí region

Background: The region of Ústí nad Labem has long been at the forefront of the prevalence of substance abuse; it is likewise specific for the occurrence of other negative social phenomena. The studies carried out in the region of Ústí nad Labem point to the fact that addictology issues are a current problem that deserves special attention as the target group of pedagogical-psychological counselling is children who consider themselves vulnerable to risky behaviour. The pedagogical- psychological counseling center is the main partner of schools and school facilities and the role of the prevention methodologist lies not only in the coordination of school prevention methodologists, but also in mapping the occurrence of risky behavior for the creation of remedial programs and risky behavior prevention programs. There is just one addictology clinic in the whole region, focusing on the target group of children and adolescents. The motive for the topic of the work was also the fact that the studies focused on the applicability of an addictologist in education have not yet been carried out in the Czech Republic. The development of a meaning of life after an attempted suicide

This thesis deals with the evolution of the meaning of life after a suicide attempt. The purpose of this study was to find out what the experience of meaningfulness looks like prior to and subsequent to a suicide attempt. The theoretical aspect is divided into two sections: the meaning of life and death. These primary topics have been described, defined and placed in a context, which includes other important issues. The meaning of life deals with the aspects of behaviour, movement, suffering, logotherapy and existential analysis, and in conclusion defines the psychological methods for studying the meaning of life. The second part focuses on the perspective of psychologists and philosophers regarding the definition and classification of suicides, suicide as a psychological phenomenon, crisis and therapy, and on psychological research into suicidal behaviour. The empirical part of the study is based on qualitative methodology in which both qualitative and quantitative methods are employed. Three comparative studies have been utilised. This part contains the actual research data with descriptions of the individual studies, the research methods and an interpretation of the results. Nature Protection as a Part of Economic Policy: Land Trusts

Since 1980's, there have been many changes in the system of nature protection of the Czech Republic. Private environmental groups -- land trusts -- evolved. Institutions and social norms have become more important. The thesis compares institutional framework of conservation in the Czech Republic, based on rentals, voluntary agreements and ownership, with American land trust movement and its system of conservation easements, supported by both federal and local governments.
