Ochrana přírody zaznamenala v České republice od konce 80. let 20. století značné změny. Objevují se soukromé ochranářské organizace -- pozemkové spolky -- a spolu s nimi sílí význam institucí a společenských norem. Práce srovnává institucionální rámec ochranářských aktivit v České republice, stavících na nájmech, dobrovolných dohodách a vlastnictví půdy, s americkými land trusts, které k ochraně přírodních a historických hodnot stále více využívají státem podporované conservation easementy. Since 1980's, there have been many changes in the system of nature protection of the Czech Republic. Private environmental groups -- land trusts -- evolved. Institutions and social norms have become more important. The thesis compares institutional framework of conservation in the Czech Republic, based on rentals, voluntary agreements and ownership, with American land trust movement and its system of conservation easements, supported by both federal and local governments.
