Hypoxia in aviation
Doležel, Jan ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Hammer, Jaromír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on hypoxia in general and commercial civil aviation. The goal of the thesis is to create a general overview of hypoxia in aviation and the dangers connected to it. The thesis includes chapters describing the physiological principles of the human body, the physical laws associated with hypoxia, and the on-board oxygen and pressurization of aircraft. At the end of the thesis the author made an analysis of two aviation accidents caused by hypoxia.

DNA Methylation Changes as Potential Biomarkers in the Treatment of Bladder Cancer
Hušek, Petr ; Pacovský, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Študent, Vladimír (referee) ; Doležel, Jan (referee)
DNA methylation changes as potential biomarkers in the treatment of bladder cancer Introdution Bladder Cancer (BC) is the second most common malignancy of the urinary tract. BC has two categories. Approximately 75 % of patients with BC present with disease confined to the mucosa or submucosa (non muscle invasive bladder tumor - NMIBC). Carcinoma in situ (CIS) is a very specific subgroup of NMIBC, because it is not a papillary lesion but a flat tumor, which is why CIS can be missed in cystoscopy. CIS is always a high grade tumor. Without any treatment, approximately 54% of patients with CIS progressed to muscle- invasive or metastatic disease. The second category covers patients with muscle-invasive BC (MIBC). These patients have a higher prevalence of progression rates and higher cancer- specific mortality. Patients with NMIBC are indicated to transurethral tumor resection (TUR) alone or with adjuvant treatment (intravesical chemotherapy or intravesical Bacillus Calmette- Guérin - BCG immunotherapy). BCG is an attenuated mycobacterium developed as a vaccine for tuberculosis that has demonstrated antitumor activity in BC intravesical instillation, and significantly reduces the progression risk of high grade papillary lesion and CIS. The therapy of MIBC is radical cystectomy - hard mutilating surgery...
Impact of Warm Ischemia on Renal Function - Clinical Model of Tumor Resection of Solitary Kidney
Stránský, Petr ; Hora, Milan (advisor) ; Broďák, Miloš (referee) ; Doležel, Jan (referee)
Objective: The aim of this work is to evaluate the effect of warm ischemia on renal function. Methods: Within a multicentric study, the data about tumor-affected solitary kidney were obtained from 9 urological centers in the Czech Republic. Patients were divided into groups according to the WIT (warm ischemia time). In each group the mean preoperative serum creatinine was determined, as well as on 3rd and 7th postoperative day and the lowest GF postoperatively. In each group the mean R.E.N.A.L. nephrometric score was determined. Results: The study compriese data totally of 97 patients. The open approach was chosen in 78 cases, in 16 cases laparoscopic approach was chosen. The robotic surgery was performed in 3 patients. PN with zero ischemia was performed in 29 patients (30%). Conclusion: Our findings confirm that non-clamping partial nephrectomy in a solitary kidney minimizes renal injury. For the non-clamping partial nephrectomy can be mainly indicated smaller exophyticall tumors without deep parenchymal invasion. Unfortunately, most of PN should be performed with vascular clamping, allowing precise closure of collecting system, vascular and parenchymal defect, especially for larger tumors with deep parenchymal invasion. According to our observation that WIT of 15 minutes for a kidney is safe. Clamping of...

Derivatives of thiazole as potential drugs.
Doležel, Jan ; Opletalová, Veronika (advisor) ; Doležal, Martin (referee) ; Musílek, Kamil (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Candidate Mgr. Jan Doležel Supervisor Doc. RNDr. Veronika Opletalová, Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis Derivatives of thiazole as potential drugs The doctoral thesis is focused on preparation of thiazole derivatives. Sixty seven compounds were prepared, thirty one of them are original. Structure-activity relationships between the chemical structure, physical properties and biological activities of the evaluated compounds are discussed. First from five series were 5-benzylidenerhodanine derivatives and 5-hetarylmethylidenerhodanine derivative. Compounds were gained by Knovenagel condensation of rhodanine with aromatic or heterocyclic aldehydes. At the same time the earlier prepared condensation product of rhodanine and ketones derived mainly from substituted acetylpyrazines were further tested for biological properties. The next part was given to the preparation of condensation products of N-substituted rhodanine with aromatic and heterocyclic aldehydes or ketones. Last series of compounds are of 5-(1-hetarylalkylidene)hydrazonothiazolidine-4-one derivatives prepared by cyclization of analogous thiosemicarbazones. The prepared compounds were evaluated for their antifungal and...
Communication Barriers between selected levels of management of medical facility
Doležel, Jan ; Hiršová, Miloslava (advisor) ; Míková, Irena (referee)
The aim of this work is to identify the most common communication errors in terms of transactional analysis taken from selected levels of management of medical facility, which undermine the social interaction at work, and analyse their causes and impact on the behaviour and experience of parties involved. Part of the work is a set of recommendations for the prevention and elimination of these barriers. For these goals to be met, I have developed questionnaires, particularly for top management, and especially for middle management, where the respondents assess themselves on how often they face barriers in the workplace and the impact of these barriers on their behaviour and experience. Their responses are processed in charts by allocation criteria. Communication theories and the barriers related to the identified data give an idea of how the top management of this medical facility (and possibly at other medical facilities of similar size and structure) should communicate with senior consultants with care. The contribution of this work should be to improve communication and achieve not only greater satisfaction for all employees, but also increase productivity during business hours. For this to transpire, it is first necessary to increase communication, especially the knowledge of effective communication, then accept their mistakes and make a constant effort to eliminate them. Some important basic concepts in communication, transactional, barriers of communication and removing communication barriers are clarified in the theoretical part. The practical part is focused on the environment of unnamed hospital. The most commonly met crossed transactions in the workplace and their impact on the behaviour and experience are shown and described there.
Rebranding
Nejedlá, Iveta ; Odehnalová, Jitka (advisor) ; Doležel, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis aims to monitor a process of rebranding on an example of the company EFKO-karton, s.r.o. At the beginning of the theoretical part, the basic terms of the issue are defined - brand, branding and rebranding, afterwards a general rebranding campaign framework is introduced along with it's attributes. Unsuccessful campaigns are briefly introduced. In a practical section of the thesis, the evaluation criteria are defined followed by detailed analysis of company's EFKO-karton, s.r.o. rebranding process with focus on the brand Igracek. To validate the success of the campaign from the consumer's point of view, a research has been processed in order to analyze target's group satisfaction with done changes.
