Implicit theories of wisdom in different career fields

This thesis focuses on implicit theories of wisdom, primarily in the context of the Czech working environment. The goal was to qualitatively verify whether there are differences in the concept of wisdom among people in different career fields, specifically among people in the helping sphere and those in the marketing sphere. For these needs, an online questionnaire with open-ended questions was developed, asking about the definition of wisdom, the characteristics of a wise person, examples of wise people, and a specific experience with wisdom. The questionnaire collected a total of 25 relevant responses, which were then assessed using the thematic analysis. Three themes were determined for evaluation based on Monika Ardelt's three-dimensional model of wisdom - the cognitive, reflective, and affective dimensions. The definitions of respondents from both spheres were further assessed concerning the importance of mentioned characteristics in their career field. Equally were analysed concrete situations and names mentioned in respondents' answers. The results indicate that although the individual dimensions often overlapped or partially complemented each other, people from the helping professions mentioned the affective component of wisdom much more often. Klíčivost semen Dracaena cinnabari v kontrolovaných podmínkách

Bachelor thesis is focused on germinability of Dracaena cinnabari seeds under different temperature conditions, in addition with seeds collected in different ways and from different localities as well. At first, a germination process is described and in addition the factors that have a substantial effect on seed germination and germinability. In another part of the work the methods that are used for germinability testing under laboratory conditions are presented. And in the last part of this section there are summarized current informations about germinability of D. cinnabari seeds and other species of Dracaena genus and related genus Sansevieria. In the practical part, four seed sections were used. These sections were collected either directly from the fruits of a cut panicle or from the ground, and moreover they were from different localities differing in altitude. The sections were named as PL, SB, NN, PE. Seeds were tested in Petri dishes under three different temperatures - 22, 26 and 30 °C, where 4 replicates of 25 seeds of each section were used. The highest germinability was achieved at 26 °C and 30 °C (of 2nd attempt) with germinability 84,6 % and 82,5 % respectively. In addition, a germination energy was calculated for each test. Seeds showed the highest germination energy at 26 °C. The results show a higher germinability of D. cinnabari seeds particularly at higher temperatures. The germinability was evaluated also for individual seed sections and because the sections were collected in different ways and from different localities, the influence of both of these factors was assessed on resulting seed germinability. Finally is concluded that this species probably has a relatively high potential ability of natural regeneration, implying that there is also a potential for regeneration of populations by an artificial way.

Project and establishment of forest nursery on Socotra Island - transfer of European forestry know-how

Diploma thesis is focused on establishment of forest nurseries and seedling production on Socotra Island where a natural regeneration of many endemic species is limited by overgrazing and has been moreover affected by cyclone that hit the island in 2015. Planting stock of Dracaena cinnabari, Boswellia elongata, Boswellia ameero, Boswellia dioscorides, Punica protopunica, Aloe perryi and mangrove Avicennia marina was planned to be propagated in nurseries located in three areas of interest – Firmihin, Homhil and Niyt. Therefore data about the species seed germination or growth rate were gathered and mentioned in the literature section. The species selection was always firstly preceded by dendrological survey of the area. Individual pilot areas were also described together with climatic data and moreover, soil samples were analysed as the substrate for the seedling production comes from local sources. Finally, the projects for forest nurseries establishment were created and according to them were individual nurseries established.

Online safety: tool for teaching socio-culturally disadvantaged children

Main topic of this thesis is safety of socio-culturally disadvantaged children on the Internet. It confirms a hypothesis that these children are not adequately equipped with skills to prevent possible risks and solve problems arising in particular from the use of social networks and modern communication tools on the Internet. The author of the thesis also aims to contribute to improving the mentioned skills of children by designing a teaching methodology. This methodology employs methods of experimental education and non-formal education as well. The thesis shall submit the theoretical background and research findings on child safety on the Internet, with an emphasis on cyberbullying, cybergrooming, cyberstalking and sexting. It also discusses the issues of socio-cultural disadvantage and exclusion as well as governmental and NGO sector's approach to the education of disadvantaged children. Final part of the thesis summarizes the results of the research, including its methodology. The designed teaching methodology for safe Internet usage is disclosed in the annexe. Trust of citizens in health care system CR

Thesis "Citizens' trust in health system CR" discusses the current state of czech health system, how is perceived by the citizens. In this thesis the focus is on the functioning of modern medicine. The theoretical part is devoted to the wider context of the problem of trust in the health care system. This section is trying to describe the changes in society which has been changing relationship of a doctor and patient. Most significant changes that affect this relationship are represented by the development of information society, as well as commercial and system pressure on the doctor. It also highlighted the importance there is the of human rights related to health and patient rights. The empirical part focuses on the research results and their discussion. The research method was applied in the form of qualitative interviews, which were then rewritten and clarified schematically using tables. Research results did not confirm the assumption that citizens lose trust in medicine as a science (lege artis). Problems of the health system respondents associate more with its wrong settings, which can be blamed for the Ministry of Health. Citizens were fairly unsatisfied with the current political situation and this is surely reflected the results of the decreased trust in state institutions.

Community Programmes of the European Union Educational and Cultural field-The Possibility of the International Partnership and Cooperation for the Subjects in the South Bohemia

The main aim of those theses is to present possibilities of financial support from the EU {--} Community programmes of the EU for the subjects in the South Bohemia region. There are mentioned chances of the financial support from the EU in the first part of my work. The next part presents community programmes in the field of education and culture and activities, which can be supported from these sources. Statistic figures of the financial support status are named at the end of each chapter. There is an example of the successful apply of grants as well as some successful projects realised by subjects from South Bohemia in the conclusion part of my theses. The goal of this section was to present the application process. Theses contain also some recommendation for the future increase of the financial drawing from discussed available sources.

Komparace jednotlivých způsobů nakládání s odpady s ohledem na kvalitu životního prostředí a ekonomickou efektivnost (jaký způsob nakládání s odpady preferovat?)

Tato práce obsahuje srovnání několika způsobů nakládání s odpadem. Tyto způsoby se odlišují svou ekonomickou efektivností, která souvisí s vývojem technologií v této oblasti a ekologickou šetrností. V práci je vždy odhalen nejprve způsob tohoto nakládání ? část teoretická a poté dle argumentů a teorií, týkajících se tohoto způsobu, využití těchto poznatků v praxi ? část analytická. Dále je v práci popsána problematika nakládání s odpadem po stránce legislativy. V práci je poukázáno na příkladu odpadového hospodářství Jihočeského kraje, jak se využívá poznatků z oblasti nakládání s odpadem v praxi a jaký způsob je v této oblasti preferován, co vede k volbě určitého způsobu nakládání s odpadem a co předchází vzniku plánu odpadového hospodářství. Cílem práce je volba nejefektivnějšího způsobu nakládání s odpadem.
