Biomechanical aspect of speed canoe technic

Name of the thesis: Biomechanical aspects of speed canoeing techniques in the context of asymmetric loading of the postural system Aim of the thesis: The main aim of the work was, based on theoretical knowledge and own empirical research, to analyze the biomechanical aspects of the technique of riding a C1 speed canoe in the context of asymmetric loading of the postural system . . Solution method: Based on the knowledge of functional anatomy and with the use of analyzes of the real riding of the top athletes (N = 12), the kinesiological aspects of riding the C1 speed canoe were investigated in the preliminary research. Biomechanical aspects of paddling were further investigated using 3D kinematic analysis (N = 9). Influence of long-term training efforts on differences in muscle cross-sections mm. iliopsoas a mm. quadratus lumborum on both sides of the body was examined by magnetic resonance imaging (N = 5). The muscle sections were performed in the transverse plane at the level of L 3, L 4. The studies were conceived as pilot due to their time, organizational and financial demands. POSSIBILITIES OF THE USE OF INDENTATION TESTS WHILE STUDYING THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF SOFT TISSUES OF THE HUMAN LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM IN VIVO, IN SITU ABSTRACT: The aim of this work was to analyze possibilities of the use of indentation tests, while studying mechanical properties of human locomotor system soft tissues in vivo, in situ. The synthesis of published findings and the results of our own surveys were used. A mathematical model of the indentation test was created as a part of theory. The geometry of the task was formulated as a solid cylinder penetrating into an infinite half-space made of viscoelastic material. The solution is based on the traditional analytical approach concerning stationary loading of flexible material. This procedure is generalized for Neo-Hooke's hyperelastic material and large deformations. The quantification of dissipative processes is based on the assumption that the stress tensor of a viscoelastic material can be decomposed into a purely elastic constituent and a purely dissipative constituent. The model enables to determine both elastic and viscous properties of the material. Experimental part of the work includes validation experiments. The influence of muscle tonus with hormonal contraception

Title The influence of muscle tonus with hormonal contraception Objective The thesis aims to determine whether and to what extent the use of hormonal contraception affects muscle tension, which can vary depending on the current phase of the menstrual cycle in women. Method The thesis is divided into theoretical part where there is a summary of information on this topic from the literature Czech and world, a special part that is treated as research using noninvasive myotonometer. The measurement is performed in 12 probands four times in four weeks, always at some stage of their menstrual cycle. The measurement results are compared between the two groups by probands and is found to influence hormonal contraceptives on muscle tension during the menstrual cycle. Results Measurement myotonometer shows that hormonal contraceptive use affects muscle tension. The measurement results show a stable and predictable changes in fluctuating muscle tension in probands who use hormonal contraceptives, but the rate changes are subject to interpersonal differences, and these results can not give a general opinion. Title: The Influence of Pelvic Clock lesson from the Feldenkrais Method® on the Proprioception and the Range of Pelvic Movement Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate the influence of Feldenkrais method (FM) on the lumbar spine and pelvic movement functions. Specifically, changes in the ability of pelvis reposition, changes in stabilize pelvic movements and postural changes were tested after completing one FM lesson Pelvic Clock. Method: It is theoretical empirical work where quantitative research with elements of controlled study was used. For the study, 30 probands aged 20 to 30 years were selected and divided into two groups. Both groups underwent a pelvic reposition test twice. The second measurement took place 40 minutes after the end of the previous measurement. At this time interval, 15 probands in the experimental group underwent an intervention in the form of the Pelvic Clock lesson of the Feldenkrais Method. The control group of 15 probands in this time period focused on physically undemanding activities, i.e. sitting, walking, etc. The following parameters were determined for all probands: accuracy of pelvic reposition, range of pelvis movement, pelvic stabilization movements, and pelvic tilt change. The use of virtual reality in combination with electrostimulation of spinal cord and its influence on individual with incomplete spinal cord injury

Title: The use of virtual reality in combination with electrostimulation of spinal cord and its influence on individual with incomplete spinal cord injury. Objectives: The main aim of this work is to find out if virtual reality in form of terapheutic videos filmed in the first person perspective and in combination with electrostimulation of spinal-cord has influence on neurological state and subjective perception of young man with spinal-cord injury. Methods: A 25-year-old proband, with incomplete spinal cord lesion syndrome for 10 years, underwent this qualitative research (case study). Proband had been watching ten-minute-long therapeutic videos through VR headset in combination with electrostimulation on average 2-3 times per week over a period of 5 months. In order to record proband's neurological state ASIA Impairment Scale test was used. This test was carried out before, during and after the research. Proband's subjective feelings and pain were evaluated on a point scale: 0-10 and recorded in proband's diary. Results: Proband's sensitivity showed minor improvement. Input score of sensory subscores light touch on ASIA Impairment Scale test were 84 points and output score increased to 86 points. Methods: The final thesis has the character of a qualitative study. For its elaboration have been used the form of a theoretic-critical analysis. It is an overview of available literature of all kinds published on the topic. Based on the theoretical knowledge, an analysis of selected strength exercises was carried out and a possible correction for the movement disorders prevention was created. Title Cervicogenic headache Objectives It focuses on the prevalence of this disease in the general population and on the cervical spine segment where the dysfunction in patients with cervical headache occurs the most frequently. It also focuses on the effectiveness of manipulative therapies for this diagnosis. Method The thesis is conceived as a scientific literature research. In order to obtain sources professio- nal database such as Pubmed, PEDro, Medline, HighWire, Science direct were used. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an analytical part. There have been 3 research questions set for the purposes of the thesis. Results Based on the analysis of available studies, the thesis confirmed that the incidence of cervico- genic headache in the general population is not negligible. It has been proved that the diagno- sis is quite frequent in patients suffering from headache, which may represent up to 35 % of patients. The results of available studies indicate that the dysfunction of the cervical spine causes 15-20 % of cervicogenic headaches. In most of the cases, it is the influence of the C1- C2, which is in more than 60 % of the cases. On the other hand, the influence of the AO joint is not very frequent. Title: The influence of skating frequency on muscle tone of musculus triceps surae. Objective: The aim of this master degree thesis is to determine whether and how much influence the frequency and intensity of isotonic load the muscle tone of musculus soleus during skating of a professional ice hockey player. The muscle tone of musculus soleus is the most objectively measured part of musculus triceps surae by myotonometer. Summary: The master degree thesis is divided into the theoretical part, the processed form of research that serves as a basis for investigation in the second, empirical part. Change in muscle tone of musculus soleus will be investigated by using myotonometer, which will follow after a full physiotherapy examination. Measurements will be performed on 10 subjects - professional ice hockey players who are fully manage the technique of skating on the ice, before load, after low frequency isotonic load and after high frequency isotonic load. Conclusion: The myotonometric measurements revealed that after low and high frequency isotonic load of skating on ice rink, the muscle tone of musculus soleus is the same or slightly lower than before load. Title: Influence of crank arm length on change of muscle tone of musculus triceps surae Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to conclude the theoretical knowledge of this issue. The experiment is to uncover via the objective results, if the change of the crank arm length can influence the muscle tone of m.triceps surae and additionaly how much. Methods: The measurement for this thesis was processed at Charles University at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports, measuring 8 volunteers. Via myotonometry, the biomechanic properties (stiffness and viscosity) of m.triceps surae were measured before and after the workout on a bicycle ergometer. These steps were repeated twice within a week with different crank arm length (170mm and 175mm). On the basis of the reaction of soft tissues on deformation from the tip of the myotonometer, the graphs are depicted, containing the hysteresis curve. We evaluate there two phenomenons - steepness and the content of the curves. They indicate biomechanic properties of soft tissues, resp. also the muscle tissue. Results: The measurements from the 1st and 2nd week were compared.
