Kids news - Czech television children chanel ČT: D newscat

This thesis deals with programs for children and news for children on public channel ČT: D, which broadcasts from August 2013. Individual chapters are focused on public TV in Europe, and their children's news. Children's news are set in a European context of children's shows. The thesis includes two studies, quantitative content analysis of show Zprávičky within two months - from October to November 2013, and qualitative research through in-depth interviews with ten respondents representing the target audience of channel ČT: D. Quantitative content analysis focuses on the themes of children's news, how much time is devoted to such topics, and whether the messages are really focused on their audience, the children. Qualitative analysis through in-depth interviews with respondents investigated the children's views on the agenda of news items that show watching on topics that kids want, watching the news affects daily life. Images of Children and Youth about the Work of Journalists

The aim of the thesis "Images of Children and Youth about the Work of Journalists" is typification the Czech journalist and his workload by children and adolescents from the age group 10-16. Moreover thesis is working with subjective children's and youth's attitudes to the profession. The first theoretical part is searching the definition of the journalistic profession in the literature and sumarizes past research on similar topics. Novel research is the core of the whole work. The questionnaire survey was carried out in primary and secondary schools in Prague, Central Bohemian region and Hradec Králové region, 153 questionnaires for younger respondents and 180 for older respondents were processed, a total of 333 completed questionnaires. The questionnaire asked for socio-demographic data about a notion of typical journalist (age, sex, place of residence, income, education...), it's personality (characteristics), journalism as a lucrative profession (rating of respondents) and a normal working day of the journalist (timetable of activities and place of presence). Picture of Václav Havel in Czechoslovak press in november and december 1989

Bacelor thesis analysis medial reflection of Václav Havel in czech press in the time of "November 1989". Analysis is focus on changes in presentation of disident and "persona non grata" on medial scene, that changed in very short time to public leader and then president od Czechoslovakia. Thesis first introduces czechoslovak press in specific time of social change, and then analysis, how this change influenced presentation of Václav Havel. For analysis vere chosen influential czech daily papers, that covered whole spectra of opinions on Václav Havel. Medial contents were primarily analysis qualitatively, separated on timelines, to recognition developing tendencies. Then contens of these media was compared in quantitative study, that has analyses differences in relationships to Václav Havel in dependence on events of "November 1989". Thesis acknowlidges same known facts about medial presentation on Václav Havel, but in other parts it openes a new themes and questions, that has not been so much explored to this times. For example ambivalent relationship of daily paper Mladá fronta.
The relationship between a computer game and its audiovisual pattern

Diploma thesis The Relationship between the Computer Game and its Audiovisual Pattern deals with the similarities and differences between the computer games and audiovisual works. The thesis presents some theories reflecting different points of view to the influence and blending of these media forms. Those theories are the base for a suggestion of typology of games and movies adaptations that were made according to a pattern. In each of three suggested categories, there are mentioned some particular examples of computer games that were inspired by movie or series and also examples of movies that were inspired by computer game. The final chapter is a case study which compares the computer game Lost: Via Domus to its audiovisual pattern - series Lost.
Presentation of chosen tv series from period of normalization in magazines czechoslovak television and television

This thesis examines how two magazines from normalization era (Czechoslovak television and Television) wrote about three chosen TV Series (The Thirty Adventures of Major Zeman, Good Water and Gottwald) when they were launched on the screen. Not only noticing topical and genre range of the texts, thesis also judges degree of propaganda in unusual journalistic environment (state press writes about state television). Thesis notes viewers'opinions apart from official texts. They were also published on magazines. Last but not least, thesis compares media environment of those days with temporary one. It notes details from normalization that are not supposed to work today. Theoretical and historical view on Czechoslovak television's operation during normalization goes before concrete research. A lot of media literature is used. Thesis confronts opinions of censored press in normalization with more objective state. This is applied both on evaluations or describing of series and on writing about real historical events. Therefore, two series that describes historiy from communist point of view were chosen - The Thirty Adventures of Major Zeman and Gottwald.
Accidents and catastrophes in totalitarian media

The aim of the dissertation "Accidents and Disasters in the Totalitarian Media" is to describe and compare the way how daily press in communist Czechoslovakia informed about transport and industrial accidents that happened in Eastern and Western Bloc. In the practical part, the media coverage of pairs of similar accidents that happened in a short time period (one in Eastern Bloc, the other in Western Bloc) will be analysed. The theoretical part deals with negativity from the view of media studies as well as other social sciences.
Media image of the Apollo 11 spaceflight in the Czechoslovak press

This bachelor's thesis focuses on media image of the Apollo 11 spaceflight to the Moon and back, including the days right before and after the event. In particular, it is about the image as it was depicted by a three contemporary Czechoslovak daily newspapers - Rudé právo, Mladá fronta and Svobodné slovo in the months of July and August of 1969. Among other things, the work examines whether forenamed newspapers distorted the facts or otherwise misinterpreted the reality that would denigrate the ideological enemy. In other words, whether they were ideologically biased. It is only logical given that the United States was in a state of high alert with the Soviet Union which had it's own cosmic programme. The chapters explaining the international situation, the role of the space program in the Cold War and the conditions of Czechoslovak media back then are part of the theoretical part. This work can serve as an addition to the previously known facts about the propaganda purposes of the Czechoslovak press during the culmination of the Cold War. Due to the detailed analysis of the material, it is possible to distinguish not only how but also the intensity of every specific newspapers about the event.
Transformation of company newsletters on the example of the Jiskra výchdočeských horníků

The thesis "Transformation of company newsletters on the example of the Jiskra východočeských horníků" deals with mentioned company newsletter, which was issued mainly on biweekly basis in period from 1940 to 1998 by East Bohemian coal mines. The first part of the thesis briefly explains historical frame in which Jiskra was issued. The mining history of Trutnov region and East Bohemina coal mines as company are introduced to the reader. There is described the legal frame of printed media issuing in the second part of the thesis. Practical part is monitoring transformation of company newsletter Jiskra with focus on its function, content and design in each decade of its existence.
