The Zoning of Rozmberk's Water Mills on Třeboň estate after 1590: Myth or Fact?

At the end of 16th century an unique document had been preparing on the Rozmberk's estates. The Description of Mills from the year 1590 registers all Rozmberk's water mills in the south part of Bohemia. Thanks to this Description Jaroslav Honc published in 1959 an article that dealt with the concept of zoning of Rozmberk's milling in 1590. The main goal of the master's thesis is presentation of this very interesting source and comparison reformative Rozmberk's officers' ideas with the fact emerged from the study of accounting books of Třeboň estate between years 1550 and 1615.
The History of Bukovec to the Late 17th Century

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the history of the village of Bukovec near Horšovský Týn, beginning with the ancient history to the late 17th century. The ancient village of Bukovec is one of the oldest villages in the area. Its dominant is in core the late Romanesque church of the Assumption from the late 12th century. Moreover the village became a feudal manor in the 12th century, which is evidenced by the predicate "of Bukovec". However, the center of the manor was transferred to the neighboring village of Čečovice in the middle of the 14th century and Bukovec became the center of the parish. Presented is also the history of the village during the Hussite wars and during the Post-Hussite time. In 1546 Bukovec became a part of the Lobkowicz dominion in Horšovský Týn. The first capture of the social and economical situation in the village is the urbary from 1587, which will also be analyzed in the thesis. Other sources of information about the social history of the village come from as late as the period after the Thirty Years` War. It is Berní rula from the half of 17th century and the oldest extand registers, dating back to the year 1672. Countess Serényi and the Town Blatná

COUNTESS SERENI AND THE TOWN OF BLATNA The thesis is not only a contribution to the regional history of Blatná nad Blatná district, but also a probe to the life of a baroque noble marital pair. The first part of the study (the 1st and 2nd chapters) takes heed of the research survey up to now, mainly of the personality of J.P.Hill, and the summary of sources. The reader is also acquainted with the life milestone of Marie Alžběty (Mary Elizabeth), countess Sereni, née Waldstein (1698 - 1787), and her husband, count Josef (Joseph) Sereni. The Blatná demesne was under their rule in the period of 1709 to 1787 (part 3.1). Part 3.2 deals with the official career of count Josef Sereni. Chapters 4 and 5 present an insight to the everyday life of barogue nobility, mainly through the medium of preserved accounts of the count household; the author deals with the question of banqueting, their residences, domestic stuff and wardrobe, primarily taking account of noble self-presentation. Its specific form - the problems of family legends - is analysed in chapter 6. Cheb's trade in 16. century

City of Cheb, lying on crossroad of old trade roads, gains by favor of czcech kings and roman emperors many privileges supports trade activity. Sixteenth century was period of trade prosperity of this region: silver was discovered in Joachimsthal and some new deposits of tin. Prosperous mining areas are source of prosperity even for near and farther neighbourhoods, and on main route from western Europe lies Cheb. Assumed prosperity of trade shoud make impact on prosperity of city inhabitants, even city as a whole. Goal of this work is to analyze city income books (Umgeldbücher) and qualify and quantify income from trade and proportion of this income in whole city income.
Social position of the czech executioner in the modern times

and key words: The work deals with the social status of executioners in modern times as a group of people who were considered to be dishonourable. The bachelor's thesis attempts to watch contacts of executioner's families and general public, their financial situations and especially to find out how much the society discriminates against hangmen. It is given emphasis to the issue of Modern honor and its interpretation in the context of an executioner and their families. Moreover it is primarily focused on family of Zelinger, that lived in the late 17th century in Pardubice and surrounding areas. Thanks to studying of Jiří Zelingers life and local conditions in Pardubice it is possible to make comparison with historiography. The Lower Nobility in Towns and Market-Towns in the 17th and 18th Century

Czech historiography pays an important degree of attention to the nobility in towns, especially in connection with palaces in land metropolises. We find noblemen in various towns - big towns and market-towns. A nobleman did not just own a seat there, many nobleman allied different passages of their lives with a town surrounding. Some places turned into a home for numerous groups of higher-state members. This study examines the seven towns and market-towns in Western and Central Bohemia. It is possible to rank the most of the nobleman there as the lower nobility, from the titular and property point of view. This study addresses the important issues: seated nobleman as town-community member and residences of such a nobleman. The nobleman had to submit to certain norms and authorities. There were the municipal law documents, land law documents and privileges amongst. Will of offices, land lords and town councils varied in its extent. Members of the town councils represented only a part of municipal community. A nobleman was connected with them and other town inhabitans with different relations. In the posthussite period the noble mentality was quite changed. One of the expessions of the change was the endeavour to keep the dominion's economy at the directional principle. It was necessary to establish as perfect dominion's administrative and financial system as possible. From this reason the nobility began to issue the economic instructions - short manuals to administrations of dominion. This work follows the development of the economic instructions in their early phase (to the half of 16th century). It analyses the particular copies included in the edition of Josef Kalousek Czech Archive vol. XXII: Peasant orders and economic instructions 1350-1626 (Archiv český XXII: Řády selské a instrukce hospodářské 1350-1626) which are included in this period.
Between the hammer and the anvil. The authoritarian apparatus of the Pardubice demesne between 1560 and 1630

and keywords This thesis deals with the topic of authoritarian apparatus of chamber estate of Pardubice between 1560 -1630. It represents not only the structure and form of bureaucratic machinery, duties and competences of its representatives, but also their influence in the context of the estate. Very important role is played not only by relation between the machinery and superior authorities, but also its contact and communication with local administrations and residents of the estate themselves. Interest is also devoted to personalities of some representatives of officials whose life stories are discussed in the individual chapters. The thesis also follows manifestations of chosen trends in early modern history and its reflection to the environment of the estate - especially the process of bureaucratization, professionalization and extent of (in)discipline of bureaucracy. Very important is also the question how much the reality of official practise was equal with provisions and requirements proclaimed in instructions and regulations. Witch trials - an illusion of Czech history?

This diploma thesis focuses on the issue of the persecution of witches in the Czech lands, precisely speaking in Bohemia and Moravia, including the necessary European context. Thesis mapped the origin and development of the formation of the dangerous sect of witches and legal basis for persecution servants of the devil designated persons. The chronological definition of work can be dated between years 1400 - 1800, however the medieval period includes a short overlap, which appears to be necessary from the standpoint of the reflection of development of formation of diabolical witchcraft. The core of this thesis becomes early modern period, the period from 1500 to 1800. Attention is also paid to the conclusions of foreign historiography and interdisciplinary approaches to the researched topic. Thesis is also trying, in addition to the analysis of theoretical concepts related to issue, ask about the possibility of application of these concepts in Bohemia and Moravia. Specific cases of judicial proceedings are based mostly on black books. Migration and Mobility of the Subject Population in the Třeboň Dominion in the Second Half of the 17th and in the 18th Century

The aim of this thesis is to examine and describe the migration of the subject population of the South Bohemian village of Dynín between 1661 and 1740. The analysis is based on a unique source, the 1661-1839 lists of subjects of the Třeboň dominion. The thesis uses the lists to restore lives of individual subjects. It compares the migration of the population in order to distinguish and describe five basic kinds of migration. The thesis aims to present the variability of migration. It suggests that migration and mobility of the subject population is a very complex topic that should not be simplified. The thesis examines the process of leaving the village and joining the army, which was particularly common in the 1730s. The work also compares the data provided by the lists of subjects with the information obtained from the parish and estate registers.
