It deals with communication with respect to human dignity, and also looks at the prevention of burnout syndrome. The basis of the bachelor's thesis is a quantitative research on the way of communication of nursing staff with elderly people with dementia syndrome and methods of staff's respite from work. The personnel studied are direct nursing care workers in hospitals and homes for the elderly in a total of 11 facilities (4 hospitals and 7 homes for the elderly) in the Hradec Králové region.

It maps their gradual development and the influences that have affected them. The thesis is divided into two parts, the first theoretical part is focused on the description of the historical context of the development of the nursing profession. In the second, practical part, the thesis is devoted to qualitative research, which was carried out through narrative interviews with a total of six respondents from among graduates of the Secondary School of Nursing in Uherské Hradiště and from among nurses who worked in Strážnice.

The theoretical part deals with the anatomy and function of the skin. Furthermore, the problems of vitiligo, the causes of this disease, the clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment, similar diseases and autoimmune diseases associated with vitiligo are explained. It also deals with nursing care for these patients and their self-care. Lastly, it clarifies the concept of quality of life, its history, how we generally evaluate quality of life and how we can evaluate it in patients with vitiligo, and also what effect this disease has on the patient's quality of life. The empirical part describes the results of quantitative research, which took place in 52 patients using the Czech version of the VitiQoL questionnaire, which was translated into Czech with the consent of foreign authors. We are also interested in finding a difference of opinion about palliative care and hospice between atheists and believers. The work is composed of a theoretical and practical part. The first part deals with Alzheimer's disease, its overall issues and the life associated with it. It also mentions dying, death and the elements associated with it, including grieving. In the practical part, responses are recorded from interviewed staff who, in addition to general feelings, were asked about attitudes and opinions about dying, death and Alzheimer's disease. The practical part was implemented using anonymous and voluntary questionnaires. The results of quantitative research are then shown in graphs. Four subgoals, which were met, were established. The results can be used in teaching practice or for further research.

Medieval guardianship and its importance for the present

Key words: Middle Ages, 13th century, guardianship, religious orders, the woman in the Middle Ages, St. Agnes of Bohemia, St. Zdislava of Lemberk, nun This bachelor's thesis deals with the beginning of guardianship in the Czech lands in the 13th century, the standing of women in the Middle Ages and important women in the history of guardianship, above all Zdislava of Lemberk and Agnes of Bohemia. It maps their fates, work and legacy for the future. It also compares the life of both female saints with the way of life of a nun nowadays. In this context, the thesis also provides an overview of religious orders which devoted their work to charity and care for the ill in the 13th century. It tries to uncover the common and differing traits of medieval guardianship with the current concept of nursing care. The focal point of the thesis is made up of qualitative research, which uncovers the period problems in contrast with the present day. The benefit of this thesis should be to find differences and common traits in care for the ill at that time and today and the legacy left to us by the 13th century. It should also serve as a reminder of the wealth of history of the nursing profession and to increase the prestige and pride they themselves have in their career.
