Excessive use of online pornography and its impact on quality of life: qualitative research

This thesis is focused on the impact of excessive use of online pornography onto the quality of life. Pornography has rich history, which reflects shaping of the social a cultural context throughout the time. Foreign scientists focus heavily on the pornography impacts. They study its impact onto the different parts of human life, behaviour, physical and psychic health or relationships. This thesis is based on quality research. The aim was to describe, what effect has excessive pornography use on the quality of subject lives, describe the evolution of subject pornography consumption and if the criteria for behavioural addictions were fulfilled. Interviews with the use of manual were undertaken with eight respondents from the webpages Život na pornu. Data was analysed by Grounded theory. Results showed, that respondents had first encounter with pornography early, around the age of 9 to 11. Spending time using pornography evolved for most respondents to several hours a day. Most common trigger points were stress, boredom and lust for some excitement from the daily routine. All respondents fulfilled the criteria of behavioural addiction - prominence, toleration, mood changes, interpersonal and intrapersonal conflict and relaps. Satisfaction of Clients of Outpatient Addictological Services in Couple Relationship from the Point of View of the Attachment Theory.

Backgrounds: Establishing and maintaining a satisfactory and fulfilling partnering relationship after the end of addictology treatment is often a goal that people cite as one of the goals in their next addictive life. Being able to establish, maintain and develop a good partnership is a confirmation of their newly acquired competences and their new role in society. People who have an affiliate relationship from an earlier time when they have used addictive substances now have to face the problems that their dependency .has caused in their relationship. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to analyze the style of emotional attachment (EA) of individual clients of aftercare programs in their current partnership as a possible source of support or burden that significantly affects their lives and how they solve their problems and describe their satisfaction in these relationships. The Role of Mobile Phone in the Life of a University Student: Monitoring Mobile Phone Interaction and Subsequent Reflection of Students

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to explore what are the habits of mobile phone usage by university students and for what purpose they use their mobile phone. Research questions focus simply on the means of usage along with students knowledge on mobile phone excessive addictive behaviour. Research was conducted in qualitative means using quasi experiment as a main method that included two parts. First, there was a group of 4 men and 4 women, in age of 18 - 26, that had their "on screen time" measured for one week. Second, each participant was individually confronted during an semi structured interview, where there was main focus on analysing their reaction. Results confirmed, that university students are strongly affected by the mobile phone influence and they show addictive behaviour. Women are experiencing a stronger need than men and are using their phones more often. A link to procrastination during learning or school lessons was found as well. Study has shown that there is a need for broader education on excessive phone usage as a part of precautionary programs on elementary and high schools. The significance of symptoms of the conflict in close relationships of players in the diagnostics of online and offline gaming addiction

BACKGROUND: Playing computer games is a favourite way to have fun since the end of the 20th century. The age of users rises together with the development of games and many gamers are nowadays middle-aged. Despite the growing number of research dealing with the issue of playing computer games, this phenomenon lacks a comprehensive definition and method of diagnosis. In some diagnostic tools, the conflict between gamers and a close person is the main and key criterion. AIM: The main aim of the research is to describe the symptoms of conflict in the close relationships of computer games players. A partial goal is to compare conflicts in close relationships in addicted or threatened by addiction gamers and non-addicted gamers. METHODS: The concept of the research is based on a qualitative research methodology. Respondents were recruited using the snow ball selection method and selected by targeted selection based on predefined criteria. The research sample consisted of 36 respondents. 18 were computer games players and 18 were close persons. All respondents took part in a semi- structured interview. Perception of experience of online gaming in connection with addictive behaviour

Introduction: the playing of massively multiplayer online role - playing games (MMORPG) has been connected with computer technologies for few years. Despite the fact that the addiction on online role playing game is not officially in MKN - 10, it takes after gaming disorder following place within behavioral addictions. Aim: the main aim of the work was to describe the perception of subjective experience of gamers playing online games. Research questions regarded types of experience of gamers, incidence of addiction behavior, gamers differences in experience with and without addiction symptoms. Final question concerned gamers ability to be aware of addiction behavior. Methods and sample: the intentional sampling was used to obtain participants, including snow ball method through informants. Subsequently semistructured interviews were carried out. All participants filled out the record sheet showing sociodemographic data and questionairre of online gaming addiction. The research group consist of 9 participants, their mean gaming time was 15 hours per week, the participants ranged in age from 17 to 40 years. The prevalence of addictive behavior on the Internet and substance use among university students in the humanities and technical field

At present, the topic of addictive behaviour on the Internet is a highly discussed topic. In conjunction with it, young adults are increasingly emerging as a vulnerable group, specifically individuals entering university. Students of different learning backgrounds also have different hobbies in the online world. Drug experiments often take place during this period. The main objective of this research was to determine the prevalence of addictive behaviour on the Internet and the use of addictive substances in two completely different university disciplines. Another objective was to find out whether there are any differences in the results of the respondents and whether there are some connections in the phenomena studied. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Charles University and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU. Connection between addictive behavior on the Internet and substance use among university students in the humanities and technical field

Studies dealing with research about the connection between the addictive behavior on the internet and the use of addictive substance are not a lot and it was never proved their direct connection. The research of this thesis is focused on the research of their the connection. I chose the population of university as a research group, in which I wanted to confirm or refute this connection. Primarily the main reason of this research was to find out the connection between the addictive behavior on the internet and the use of addictive substance, farther also the differences between two different university fields, in which could be expected differences in the exploration of addictive behavior. For the purposes of this research was chosen questionnaire form of data collection, those questionnaires were distributed to the students directly in the classroom. The selection of the research group was randomly selected representatives of the technical and humanities field - they were chosen students of cybernetics and robotics filed of the faculty of electrotechnics of ČVUT, as a typical representative of techincal sphere, and students of psychology field of the faculty of phylosophy of Charles Univesity, which is a typical humanitarian field.
