Applying Sensory Profile 2 Test with Premature Children from the occupational therapist's point of view. Subtitle: The influence of premature birth on sensory integration processing of 2 year old children.

This diploma thesis deals with the problematics of sensory processing with premature children. The aim of the thesis is to show the important role of an occupational therapist taking care of infants with perinatal risks already at NICU. Another aim of the thesis is to create an unofficial Czech translation of the standardized Toddler Sensory Profile 2 Test and use it to evaluate the quality of sensory processing with premature children and compare the results with those of children born in term. In the theoretical part, the classification of new- borns is described for better understanding and orientation, together with the risks premature birth brings and the role of an occupational therapist taking care of such children. In the thesis, the approach of Sensory Integration and a classification of Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD) are described. At the end of the theoretical part, the Sensory Profile 2 Test is further described, especially its part dedicated to toddlers (TSP2). The practical part is made of a quantitative research. In the research, the total number of 70 two-year-old toddlers were assessed using TSP2, out of which 44 were born premature and 26 in term. Intervention of occupational therapist in children's palliative care

This bachelor thesis is about the intervention of occupational therapist in palliative care for children. Children's palliative care something is new and unknown for many laypersons and proffesionals as well. When the child dies it seems like something abnormal and unnatural. However, they are dying as adults from different reasons. This cause can be injury, accident or severe illness as well. In this situation when the child is diagnosed by serious illness which is connected with many difficult situations when the child and his family need help of professionals. Rehabilitation is very important part of effective and quality care. In the Czech Republic rehabilitation and occupational therapy are underestimated. The value and importance of intervention of occupational therapist in children's palliative care is supported by evidence in many foreign literature. I derived mostly from these foreign languages sources. The theoretical part of this thesis is about the introduction of children's palliative care. It contains chapters where I specify palliative care for children, specifics of this issue and history of it. The intervention in Occupational Therapy for children with perception disorder of body schema

This thesis deals with process of body scheme, its disorders in childhood and the possibility of influencing, mainly due to the sensory integration. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a synoptic manual on processing of body scheme from the perinatal period when the creating of body scheme is an indispensable component, to neonatal, infant and toddler age, when the possibilities of influencing the disorders are the most effective and provide good results. The thesis is divided into two parts; one is theoretical and the other practical. The theoretical part describes the commonly used terms relating to the body and body perception, perception development, specific diagnoses, where the body image disorder is present, methods of evaluation and therapy. The practical part describes two case studies of preschool children diagnosed with dyspraxia, in which the body scheme disorder is analyzed. For practical knowledge there is an importance of proper physiological perception and negative impacts of disturbances on motor skills in all areas.
